Dear D.
How long has this been going on? If it's more than 3 days or so, I'd consult a doctor. Do not let this drag on, as you're still in the crucial 1st trimester. Do not rely on this site too much for medical advice.
Well, I am only 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I am really excited but I keep running a low grade fever. Today my fever is 99.1. It never goes over 100.0 which is great. It comes and goes but it is really frustrating. What is the best way to get rid of it? I don't want to take anything but I hate that my body is constantly fighting a fever too. Is it normal to run fever
Dear D.

It is always reassuring to hear from mamas that have been there, right?! We don't need medical degrees to share our experiences.
It is quite normal to feel a little extra warm in early pregnancy. Your metabolism revs up to grow your baby. I am a warm person to start with...I was roasting through the first trimester.
99.1 wouldn't be considered a fever in an otherwise healthy adult--a clinical fever in adult is usually one full degree above the normal average. 98.6 is the AVERAGE human body temperature...some people are points above or below this.
I don't believe you SHOULD treat this elevation in temperature, better to see what it does on its own. If it does beceome a fever, you want to be able to identify how quickly it develops and not mask any other symptoms.
Good luck...you have planty of body changes ahead of you!
I am not a doctor and you should certainly speak with your OB on this, but I thought it was normal for a pregnant woman's body temperature to be slightly higher than normal. Also,I believe a fever is considered 100.4 or higher. But again, double check with your doctor to be safe.

What time of day does your temp get up to 99.1? Human body temp really only averages as 98.6. Body is usually coolest around 7 am, at about 97.6, and hottest at 7pm, at around 100 degrees.
Since a normal body temperature is 97.6 - you really aren't running a fever (unless it reaches 100+) but rather your body is most likely preparing itself for the baby and they changes it knows is coming.
At this point you're seeing the doctor once/month; talk to your doctor during your next visit. There are several good books out regarding pregnancy - check into those or log into baby.com or parenting.com - lots of great info on both sites.
Like a diet - don't check your weight every day.....don't check your temperature every day.
are you sure you don't have a uti? i would ask your doctor about the fever.
Hi D., I think this is probably a question for your OB.
Congratulations!!!!
I don't think it is normal to run fever just because you are prego. What does your OBGYN say?
