Hi Ladies! I have a friend who has been struggling with infertility for a few years now and is looking into taking the next step. Any recommendations for a fertility specialist (not an OB who does some fertility stuff on the side) in Austin? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I second the recommendation for Dr. Christopher Seeker. He is TOTALLY wonderful. I would not dream of attempting another child without him. He really listens to your concerns no matter how odd you make think they seem and all of his recommendations for my last difficult pregnancy were spot on. His care for me and my family was a complete and total blessing.

Texas Fertility Clinic is awesome however, I would NOT recommend Dr. Hansard. I went to see her a few years ago and her diagnosis was totally off base because the procedure that I had done often gave false negatives (which I found out through the internet) and she should have done a follow up procedure to confirm the results (which she did not). Long story short, she recommended fertility procedures that I did not need at a huge expense! I ended up doing a lot of research through the internet and found info that Dr. Hansard should have known. I have a friend that saw Dr. Silverberg and did not have a lot of success with him, switched to Dr. Vaughn and now has a set of twins.
Good Luck!!

I LOVE Dr. Vaughn at Texas Fertility Center (www.txfertility.com/)! He is very caring and thoroughly explains things when I have questions. I like the way the office/practice is run. Very patient-friendly.

And by the way, after more than two years of trying to conceive, male-factor infertility, six IUIs, three Clomid cycles, and two miscarriages, I am now pregnant after my first IVF cycle with Dr. Vaughn!!

She is not alone! Dr. Lisa Hansard at Texas Fertility Center or any of her partners are WONDERFUL!

Not sure if you've already heard this, but I strongly recommend Dr. Christopher Seeker. He is based out of the building next door to Seton Hospital and he is really good. He made the cover of a major magazine after helping a couple conceive when other drs told them it was impossible (they lost their children in the Oklahoma bombing).

Dr. Seeker and his staff are really great. The only drawback is that lots of other people know about him, so the waiting room gets packed and the wait can be long.

If your friend has any questions about him or wants more info, I'd be happy to share more.
