HAve anyone tried Femara after taking clomid with no luck? My RE is thinking of putting me to injectables and I don't think I will like it.

What can I do next?

I did Femara after clomid. I actaully liked it better than the clomid. the side affects for me were very minimul. However, I had to move up to the injectables, which were nothing really. Didn't hurt and was only every other day. We got pregnant on the injectables and now have healthy 2 year old twins. That is something to consider as well. Your chance of multiples increase when you move to the injectables. Good luck,
K.

Hi L.,

I tried clomid for several months on increasing doses (2 months past what you are supposed to). Then I moved to Femara along with the injectables and got pregnant on the first try with a beautiful baby girl! I found the side effects much easier to tolerate than clomid. One question to ask with injectables is if they plan on monitoring your ovaries via ultrasound to make sure your follicles are not overstimulated.

Good luck!
:)

I took clomid with no luck. Femara worked first time taken, but was after bilteral ovarian wedge resection. Have to agree side effects much better Femara. Clomid was tried after also without luck. Good Luck.

I took 3 rounds of Clomid that were completely unsuccessful. Now I am on my second round of Femara. The side effects are almost non-existant compared to the Clomid. If we are not successfull this cycle, we are expected to move on to Femara with injectibles. It seems to be the new "standard" when Clomid doesn't work. Good luck!

I did not take Femara but did move on to injectable drugs since Clomid alone did not do the trick.

I had no negative side effects with Follistim and did get pregnant (only to miscarry). Oddly enough, the injectables did not hurt at all. The needle was teeny tiny and was self-administered subcutaneously. It was like a little stick/pinch but not bad at all.

My doctor liked Femara so we started with that instead of Clomid mainly due to the reduced side-effects. One of the side effects of clomid (especially at higher dosages) is a reduction of cervical fluid and Femara is less likley to cause that. Since I knew I didn't have great quality cervical fluid, Femara was a good first choice. I really didn't have any side affects with the Femara and, after 4 cycles, I am now pregnant! Good luck to you!!!
