I see Dr. Keith at Novas, Dohr and Coll. They are located on Lions Drive in Barrington and it is a wonderful practice of all female docs and 1 NP.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

This is my first pregnancy and I'm having a really tough time finding a female OBGyn. Everyone recommends male doctors but I don't think I'd be very comfortable with that. Can anyone please recommend a good OBGyn around the Schaumburg/Barrington area?

I used Dr. Masue Li when I had my twins. She is absolutely WONDERFUL! Unfortunately I have to change because she moved on me :( very upset about it. Anyway, I don't know if it will be too far for you or not. She is now out of DuKane Obstetrics & Gynecology in St. Charles and affiliated with Delnor Hospital. Phone # is ###-###-####.
I absolutely love her.
Good luck to you.
I do hope you find a Dr you are comfortable with, but don't rule out men just because he's a man! Trust me, I didn't think I'd be comfortable either but when it comes down to it, you won't care after the first couple appts. if you click. Heck I didn't think I'd be comfortable with 12 people in my delivery room, but I didn't even notice... I just remember it sounded like a sports game, everyone yelling and then cheering lol. Congrats and good luck!
I went to Dr Yockey in Elk Grove Village - close to Schaumburg. Loved everyone at the practice there are 2 doctors and 1 midwife (Nicole) who's great and delivered by little one, and 1 nurse practioner - all of them are females. Everyone there was nice and I trusted them. In addition the office staff is pretty good - I didn't have to wait more than 5-10 for my appointments - a huge pet peeve of mine. Once I did have to wait an hour because there was an emergency. But the staff get me updated about the status and the doctors were really apolegetic.
I just delivered April 21st using an all female practice in Elk Grove Village called Advanced Women's care. http://advancedwomenscarecenter.com/ They deliver at Alexian Brothers and Northwest Community (which has a brand new maternity wing as of May 1st!). If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
(I could only find 2 all female practices in this area - one at Lutheran General and Advanced Women's Care. I didn't search NCH practices because at the time I didn't want to deliver there. In the end, that's where I decided to go, but I used AWC for the docs.)
Don't know about your area, however I agree with you....I've always had women OBs, and when we moved to Chicago, got a woman midwife...who works with OB if there should be complications during delivery....which never happened for me.
Perhaps look into midwives? Most can handle anything, and if c-section is in order, then they work with OBs....

I was just in Schaumburg a few weeks ago.....nice place...........
I had a female OBGyn and loved it, but you are right, they are not easy to find. ............get on the internet and google for one in your town. I'm sure there has to be one near by..........You might call the American Medical Associate and ask them too.........or if there is one for just those type of doctors...........ask around, someone should know.........
Congratulations on your first child.......take care.
Female heathcare Associates. They have 7 doctors in total. 3 are women. My primary id Dr. Michelle Szwedo and she delivered my son, but Dr.Kimberely Darey delivered my daughter and she was fantastic too. They work with Northwest Community, Alexian Brothers and CDH. They have 4 offices depending on where you live.
Hope this helps!!!
M. Susan Scanlon, MD of Comprehensive Women's Center with offices in Wheeling and Hoffman Estates (on Barrington Road). First class doc!
This is an all women practice!
I would second Dr. Keith at Novas, Dohr and Coll in Barrington. I've only used her for Gyne and only had 1 appointment, but I really liked her. I also have a friend who has had 2 babies with the office and heartily recommends. I did have one other friend who didn't care for Dr. Novas' personality, but liked the others. Good luck!
I belong to the Womancare group. There are a bunch of woman OBGyn's but also a bunch of male doctors too. I have seen both and loved all of them. I have had 3 births with them. 2 of which Dr. Michelle Goldin delivered and I would highly recommend her. However I would recommend seeing all the Dr's to see who you like the best. Personally some of the male Dr's have a little more compasion for us pregnant women :)

They have a bunch of offices and one in Schaumburg off Roselle Rd.
Good luck!
Dr. Kathryn Ray, Comprehensive Women's Center. They have offices in Hoffman Estates, right by St. Alexius, as well as, one in Wheeling. They deliver out of Northwest or St Alexius. They do have one male Dr now, they used to be only women dr.
