Feeling the Baby Move - Taking Longer with Fourth

With #1, I felt the baby start kicking pretty regularly by 18 weeks, and with #2 & #3, both were kicking by 16 weeks. Now with #4, I am 18 weeks and haven't felt so much as a flutter. Nothing. Trying not to panic & I realize there is a time range and baby is only so big, but for some peace of mind before my next Dr. appt. & ultrasound - has anyone else waited *longer* (and how much?) to feel their baby move in consecutive pregnancies?

What can I do next?

My babies were so big that I NEVER felt them move or kick. I just felt a foot in my lungs, a hand squeeze my ovaries, a punch to the bladder.....Don't worry if you don't feel the baby, but do ask your doctor if everything is ok when you go in next. If there isn't any other reason to worry, then I wouldn't! Happy baby mama!

With our son I almost never felt him kick.
It seems while I was awake and moving, child was sleeping and relatively non active.
But while I was sleeping and snuggled up to my husband - the baby was kicking up a storm.
In fact, Hubby thought I was nudging him over and he fell out of bed.
Our son just loves that story of how he kicked Dad out of bed before he was born!

It was 19 - 20 weeks with mine. They said the placenta was in the front, so it would be later before she was big enough for me to feel the kicks through that.

It took longer to feel my third and I found out that it was because of where the placenta was. I, too, was curious as to why I hadn't felt baby as much. Then, right when the ultrasound technician was telling me that it might be a while before I felt baby, BAM! He kicked so hard I think she felt it! Good luck to you with #4!

Please don't take offense: Are you heavier than you were with the other babies? Literature shows that bigger women tend not to feel the baby move until further on in the pregnancy.

Also, if not, it might be that this baby is simply not a dancer. :-)

It took longer for me to feel my daughter move than my son, because the placenta was in the front with her and at the top with him. It could be something as simple as that.
