Feeding Twins Without the Tears?

HELP! From their birth, I have simultaneously fed my twins. Since they have begun solid foods it is a disaster! When the spoon is in one twin's mouth, the other is screaming! Sometimes so upset that I actually have to stop, take him/her out of the highchair console and by that time the other is upset! We've tried a binky, when you don't have the spoon and eating at different times both worked a couple of times, but they soon caught on and now we're back to upset if sister is eating without brother and vice versa. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, M.

What can I do next?

I fed mine at the same time with the same spoon. I know some people don't approve of this, but it worked and I had a toddler running around (my other son is 20 mos older than the twins). I gave one a bite, then the other. It worked and they were both happy while eating :)

Can you sit them in the chairs next to each other, and use one spoon in each hand?

The best thing for us was starting their feedings before they were really hungry. They were hungry but not "hungry, hungry, if I don't get a spoon I'm going to wail, hungry," know what I mean? It ended up making us be more scheduled which was a good thing for the whole family. It was suggested that we stagger but that's not feasible - you'll be feeding one all day. Try starting their meals a little earlier for now. When they get a little older you can give finger foods too.
