A lot of times the cutting of the teeth also affects their ears and the sucking may bother her for a few days. I wouldn't worry as long as her diapers are still wet. Good luck, I hope this helps:-)
Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone else experienced this. My 7 month old daughter has just cut her 2 bottom teeth in the past week. Went fairly well with minimal fussiness. Now, the past 2 days she has been increasingly fussy and is not wanting to eat from her bottle (very fussy). Otherwise seems fine. Thought that she would feel worse before they cut through. Any thoughts? Thanks

My kids were always worst well before their teeth popped through--and teething pain was at its height about a week before they popped. Could she be getting other teeth? My 8 1/2 month old is actually working on four teeth right now; once my kids got those first two, it seemed we were teething for the next 6 months straight!
My four month old just went through the same thing when his bottom two teeth cut through. When he wouldn't take the bottle I'd give him baby food instead.
You can also try making the bottle a little cooler than normal - sometimes the coolness helps soothe their little gums and will get them to take the bottle.

Hi Tanya! I'm not sure if this applies to your daughter, but many times children's teeth emerge close together(as in timing not spacing)Is she cutting another set? The top incisers are normally next, although I've worked in daycare for the last 8 years and have seen them erupt in many different ways and varying ages. The other thing I've noticed, and most doctors disagree, is that children tend to be more prone to ear infections during teething times. Not because teething causes them, but because children's bodily fluids run more (drool and mucus) when they are teething. As you know, ears, nose and throat are all connected. Many children can have an ear infection and not have a fever with. Also, if she is producing more mucus and swallowing a lot of it this could upset her stomach. Some suggestions to ease her discomfort: Something cold to chew on, (teething toys, or even a clean washcloth that has been dampened and frozen) some infant Tylenol or Orajel to help with teething pain, and if she is congested it may help to use a syringe to clean out her nasal passages so she can breath while she's drinking. this was quite helpful when my kids were young.
Good luck,I hope this is helpful. C.
Hi Tanya!
Sounds like your sweet little girl is going through a lot of teeth moving at once, poor little thing! I found some help with Ambesol that numb the gums, there are also some homeopathic teething medicines, which I found limited help in. The best success I had was with giving my 3 children a dose of infant Tylenol about 1/2 hour before feedings. If she is wanting to bite or chomping at her hands, you might try something cool. Mine didn't like the plastic water filled toys you can refrigerate, but liked gnawing on a chilled carrot (make sure she can't bite off any- always supervise closely) or a chilled baby washcloth.
I hope some of these ideas might be useful!

Hi Tanya...
My oldest did this when he was teething also. He would take the breast just fine, but not the bottle. He would simply refuse it. I think it just had to do with the nipple of the bottle being tougher.
I would just put a little orajel on his teeth or gums 10 min or so prior to feeding time. That seemed to help a bit.
Good luck,
A.
Has your little girl started eating solid foods yet? She may just be wanting to add more to her diet. it is also possible that more teeth are coming through that you just can't see yet.
Just keep offering her a bottle. Also offer her a few drinks of water or watered down juice in a regular small plastic cup ( I use the old plastic tuperware cups)throughout the day. When they are teething sometimes they'll eat more and drink less and sometimes they'll want to drink more and eat less. So since she's not drinking as much she'll most likely want to eat a little more than usual and that's fine. It's completely normal.
She may not be done teething! My daughter cut her top two teeth a few days after she cut her bottom two teeth! Ear infections can come with teething so that may also be something to consider....Otherwise I wouldn't worry too much about it. Keep offering her the bottle or cold water and give her Tylenol for the really fussy times.
