I agree, I did all the foods separately. I wanted my kids to get used to the tastes of each fruit, vegie, etc. on their own, after all, when you eat you don't mush all the foods into one big pile do you?
Good luck with your husband.
This is common right? I feed my little one some cereal and fruits or vegetables or meat together. I don't mix it all up. I give a spoonful of one and then the other. My husband says I am crazy and shouldn't do it. I just want some confirmation to ease my mind.
thanks

I don't think there is any rule about mixing or not mixing, but that's how I do it when first introducing foods. I like to make sure that the baby gets used to the flavor of each food, not just the flavor of bananas or applesauce. Some people hide less desirable foods in the babies favorite foods, just to get their kids to eat. Which isn't a bad thing, but in my opinion it doesn't help them like/adjust new foods.
This is normal. The more diversity the better; if you introduce new foods one at a time and your son likes them, serve them. I used to mix the fruit with the cereal. I would likely give a little meat with vegetables. One thing that you probably don’t need to worry about is serving a “balanced” meal every time – but rather serving him foods from each nutritional category over the course of a day or two. Children instinctively know what they need – an offering (not forcing) a variety of choices is good for them.
It may be a little out dated, but whenever I had a moment of doubt I always turned to Doctor Spock.

Theres nothing wrong with that. Babies don't know. They will just eat it all.
