I'm looking to go away mid October with my husband and son (who will be almost 20 months old at the time and I will be 26 weeks pregnant with # 2).

I have no idea where we should go! My son is VERY active he goes non-stop morning to night!

At this point we are willing to drive or fly (we are North East based). I'm hoping to figure it out this week...

Where was your favorite toddler friendly vacation?

Update - will a 20 month old be able to go on rides at Disney? My husband and I were thinking he might be too young.

What can I do next?

I love Coco Keys. The kids love the indoor water parks. There's a section for different ages and a great lazy man's river for a pregnant momma to relax.
Have fun.

la costa in carlsbad CA. Not cheap, but you can drive to all kinds of attractions and the resort and pool are perfect for toddler.

We went to Disney World for a week when my son was about that age and LOVED it. He's 3 now and we can't wait to go back again. We did all the parks (except for the water ones) and it was so great.

I've never been, but is Sesame Place still open then? It's in Pennsylvania, outside of Philly.

And you are very brave to be traveling with a 20 month old while 26 weeks pg. When my twins were 15 months old, we flew from Maine to FL to visit family. I was about 14 weeks pregnant with my daughter. It was exhausting, but can be done.

If you can fly, Disney is a great place! It can get pricey and he is young, but it would be fun!

Are you wanting to go somewhere warmer than New England in October or does that not matter?

A no fly cruise or fly to cruise, if you can find one that will take his age for babysitting... or someone is coming with you who can help. Our 2.5 yo looooved running around on the ship and playing in the pool while at sea!

The beach. A beach can entertain a todler for hours and hours, even longer if there's a playground attached.

Yes, a 20 month old can go on many of the rides at Disney, but I would save that for when he's a little older. Also, you may not be up to all the walking that's involved.

It's been over 10 years, but we took the kids to Busch Gardens in Tampa when they were little. In addition to the animals, which they loved, there was a great area that was designed specifically for little ones.

I would say Beaches in Turks and Caicos. They have an amazing kids camp so you can put your toddler there as long or short as you want. We've gone 4 years in a row and love it. One caveat.... Looks like hurricane Irene is headed there so you'll have to see what happens there.

Smoky Mtns National park. The weather is pretty nice that time of year and you can rent a cabin around Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. There are lots of strolls as well as car tours throughout the parks that you can do even if pg and with a toddler or you can just be chill. We've even done it with 6 and 7 week old babies
