Hi All,
My LO is turning 3 :) He loves mega blocks, drawing, playing with toy instruments; making letters out of sticks, play dough and pencils; adding, playing store with a toy cash register, building with montessori type rods....toy cars..balls

Any other creative ideas for toys: A train set? unisex toy house?

Thank you as usual.

Jilly

I had a girlfriend give her son a kitchen for his 2nd birthday, I thought she was nuts as it seemed like a "girl" type toy and at 6yo's he still enjoys playing with it. I admit, I was wrong:) Give him a kitchen with fake food to make you dinner for once:)

Our experience with the train set was awful. Our 3 year old only broke it down, and threw the pieces around. We considered gluing the whole set, but we decided to get rid of it. His favorite thing to do with his water/sand table. Its hours of fun. He also loves toy food. Pretend kitchens/grill set. We have a spongebob crabby patty grill. He absolutely loves to fry the patties and fries and serve them to us!!!

Does he have a bike? My 2 1/2 year old loves his strider balance bike (which we got on Amazon, but I think Toys R Us sells them now too). It looks like a big kid bike, but does not have pedals. The idea is that they learn balance without the need for training wheels. They last most kids until they are about 5 years old.

A play house or kitchen is a great idea. They also have these play workbenches that are really cute. The kids can hang the tools up and store some underneath, it's cute. A train set is also good and I suppose it's a built in suggestion for anyone who asks what does he want?! You can help others build up your train collection. Does he have a bike or ride on toy? I know it's getting towards colder weather but we usually use our outside toys through November, and shoot, I just noticed you're in FL, so you should be able to use it all winter. My daugher has a smaller bike and loves it! Plus big wheels, scooters, or even Power Wheels are great for that age.

When our son was three, it was ALL about Thomas the Tank Engine. That was huge at that age for him. All of his friends were into it, too. We definitely got our money's worth out of all those pricey little trains and tracks.

This is what my son likes: he is now 5 but STILL loves these things since he was 2:

Cars
Dinosaurs
pretend dress up clothes
cooking things
gardening things
Play-Doh
Moon Sand
Paint
Workbooks
Legos
Hot Wheels race track
Water guns
Bike
Scooter
Basketball Hoop for outdoors (by Little Tikes on Walmart site). My son loves his.

Sure, a play house. There are many for boys too. I have a boy.
ie: castles etc. for boys
Just Google Search, like on Amazon, "play castles for boys." Or just play castles.
My son loves his play castles. He does real well at imaginary pretend play.
