Faux Wood Blinds, Will They Turn Yellow?

House we bought had "white" faux 2 inch wooden blinds when we moved in. Not sure how old they were but they were quite yellowed. I took them down to clean them and many of the slats broke. They were extremely brittle. We need to replace them but according to reviews online this is a common problem. I hate to spend the money to replace them just to have to do it again in a few years. Any of you have these? Have yours stayed white and if so what brand are they? I read it's long term uv exposure that causes the yellowing. Some brands have a protectant in them that is supposed to prevent this. Of course it's the more costly brands that do. The trim in our house is very white so if they turn even a little yellow it will be very noticeable. No one smokes in our house and neither did the previous owners.

What can I do next?

We've had ours for about 10-12 years and still very white. I think they came from Menard's. Sorry--can't find the brand name.

I got the cordless ones from Lowes. They've lasted for at least 10 years, a friend has some that she's had since they bought their house in 1996.

Her's were wood tone and mine are white.

Ours are Levelour (I think that's how you spell it). WE've had them 8 years and they haven't turned yellow.

I have wood cream colored wood blinds that are 40 or so years old. I've had them restrung and retaped once they still look good. They have wide slats which date them. A friend bought wood shades a few years ago and they look new. She said they cost about the same as quaility vinyl shades.I suggest you look at wood blinds.

Ours are 10 years old, wide slats, vinyl made to look like wood blinds and they are still white. I love them. They wipe clean with a damp cloth. They are Graber brand/Springs window fashion. Custom from Home Depot. I have them in the kitchen and bathrooms on the southeast side of the house where they get a lot of sun. No yellowing yet.
