I love the video idea. But as far as a personal gift from you and as my husband would put it, "some of the best things in life are free" Give him a memory. :o)
Hello,
This year for Father's Day my husband and I will be in the Bahamas, for Mother's Day he surprised me with a shopping spree and he took care of our beautiful 18 month old for the day so I could go shopping! He is a wonderful man who has everything. I wanted to come up with a good idea for Father's Day to do for him while we were on vacation, but I am completely lost on what to do. Any idea would be wonderful! I want to make it extra special due to him not being able to be with his little girl on that day as well.
thanks

I have never been to the Bahamas so I am just trying to remember somethings that friends have done that might be something fun for hubby. Of course I am not sure what you are planning on doing as a family/couple while down there so you might be doing all of this already. This also depends where you are staying and if hubby would enjoy any of them, you may or may not be close to any of these.
* Scuba Diving
* Golfing
* Dolphin Encounter
* Undersea Walk (I think it was Hartly or Hartley's that did it)
* Bacardi Distillery (tours are free & guests are given rum samples as they tour the distillery)
* If he likes casinos if there is one in the area and give him cash to go have fun
* If he likes to learn about the area maybe find a tour that would be of interest to him
That is all I can come up with, nothing super creative but maybe it will help spark an idea that would be perfect for him.
I am jealous of Bahamas! :)
How about either some voice recording or a video recording made of your little girl for Father's Day - of course given to him on Father's Day? (Sorry I did not read the other responses....mayube this is not helpful at all.)
Good luck!
Just you and him...in the Bahamas...without your 18 month-old...
Go shopping again and buy whatever his favorite "sexy little thing" is (hint: Victoria's Secret). On Father's Day, get him his favorite drink (yours too) lock the hotel door, put on some music, come out of the bathroom wearing sexy thing...and I think you'll know what to do. Any guy I've known will have had the best Father's Day ever!
For Christmas, I went to The Picture People and got my son's picture taken. For around $30, they will put the picture on a necktie. It looked great and while my hubby won't wear it to work, he does wear it to church. A lot of people have never seen anything like it and he always gets compliments.
Since he's a hard working guy, why not treat him to a massage or spa - something on the beach would be really nice. You could do side by side massages.
Make a card from your daughter that tells him all of the things that she loves about her daddy. Then, have her hold the card while you video record her and say the things she loves. I'm sure you can get her to do some pretty cute things on camera with very little prompting.
When you are at the resort, pop in the DVD and then give him the card.
Instead of video recording your daughter, you may be able to set up a video conference call so that they can see each other.
You might even want to give him a card listing all of the reasons why you think he is a great father.
Then go do something really fun or romantic!
HAVE FUN!!!
Hi,
Does he like deep sea fishing or scuba diving? You could rent a private boat and guide for him. Or how about renting a private boat for a sunset dinner for the two of you? Have a wonderful trip!

If you are staying at a resort, you can call or email ahead and have them prepare something special to have in your room before you arrive like a bottle of wine or champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, or cheese and fruit. You can even have a card put on it from you and/or your daughter. Add your little something special from Victoria Secret, and wa-lah! I have ordered these kinds of things many times for family who were at resorts or on crusies on honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. If you are arriving in the Bahama's before Father's Day, how about contacting the resort to see if they can prepare a breakfast in bed to be delivered to your room on the morning of Father's Day from your daughter? Add her framed picture to the tray. Or arrange an activity or tour like those already mentioned. How about a deep sea fishing trip?
