Hi Mama's,
We are planning a trip to WDW (next month) and are planning to visit Universal Studios and the Adventure Park (a Saturday and Sunday). Is it really worth purchasing the "FAST" passes?

Should we just wait and see the weekend we are there to purchase them? We are purchasing the tickets online now so we don't have to stand in line for those at least!

Those Fast passes are not cheap, but if you get on those rides quickly with no wait times, might be worth it????
Thanks for any advise :)

What can I do next?

We just got back from Orlando. We visited Universal Studios (both parks) we didnt purhcase the fast pass- I'm not sure if we were just plain lucky but frankly we didnt wait no longer than 10 minutes in line.
Disney world was a totally different story, some rides were about an hour wait, we also did Animal Kingdom and rides were about 30 to 45 minutes wait.
While we were at Disney World I literally felt not an extra soul can fit in the park, it was terribly crowded and it was really hard to move around. My sister was smart about getting on most of the rides, she waited for the parade to start. She immediately went on most of the rides without any wait. Right after the parade the rides went back to an hour wait.

Have Fun!

I agree - stay at one of the properties at Universal for a couple days then you can use the room key as a free fast pass. The fast pass at Universal is awesome. Especially with the room key it is unlimited (I think with the fast passes you purchase, you can only go through the fast pass line one time per ride) - and the fast passes at Disney are totally different than at Universal. We stayed at Universal for Spring Break once and my daughter got completely spoiled by the "fast pass" lol

When we went to WDW, we got he fast passes and loved them! You show up at the ride, swipe your pass, it prints out a ticket that gives you a time range, you go check out other things, come back within that time range, and get right on the ride! It definately helped alleviate the boredom associated with waiting in line, and you could hit all of the rides in a row, because by the time you swiped your fast pass for the 4th ride (or however many you want) it's usually about time to head back to the first.

yes! We stayed at Hard Rock Hotel for 2 nights so we could have the fast pass and it was worth every single really expensive dollar that it cost! Some lines were 3 hours long!! We got on in less then 15 minutes for those rides! We would not have been able to do anything really w/o the passes. It made the day enjoyable.

It can be worth it . . . depending on the crowd level. But they also adjust the pricing based on the crowd level, too, if I remember correctly. Also, I think it only gives you one fast pass per attraction, per day. Be aware that the Disney Fastpass system works COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY! Know how both of them work before you go.

Another option is to stay at one of the 3 Universal properties. If you do that you get an unlimited fastpass "free" (the rooms can be pricey) at Universal or Islands (in Orlando).

I would get a copy of the latest edition of the "Unofficial Guide to Disneyworld." This book includes great time-saving tips for the parks, including Universal and Islands of Adventure.
