My husband and I are taking our son to San Diego this weekend, specifically SeaWorld, for his birthday. We are staying around the Marina/Gas Lamp District and are not that familiar with the area. Does anyone have any dining suggestions? Of course they need to be kid friendly but we don't want to go to the ordinary chain restaurants.

Definitely the Old Spaghetti Factory...it's in the GL District. Ask at your hotel...yummy food, family friendly, and reasonable prices.
Hi, You have to take him to the Corvette Diner in Hillcrest. It is just up 5th Ave. A cab ride won't be too pricey and Hillcrest has lots of shops and stuff to look at as well.
I worked there while going to college and it is the best place for kids. It is a 50's diner setting but loud and crazy.. http://www.cohnrestaurants.com/cohn/cohnrestaurants/corve... best time to go is at night as that is when the dance routines are etc... on Fridays the waitresses wear crazy wigs. I recently went back to visit San Diego and took my 2 year old. He was having a meltdown and nobody noticed because it is so loud and there is so much going on. After he got over his melt down he had a blast as pretty much anything goes. Have fun!
The Spaggetti Factory is good and downtown, it is way kid friendly and has great food.
