We wore black pants (slimming) and denim shirts. I've also seen jeans and white shirts but I think if you're fair skinned, it might wash you out. You could try black shirts and jeans.
Hey everyone! I want to get our family picture taken to give out for Christmas presents. We are tight on money and I know of a great place to do it. I have one problem though, I have no idea what to put everyone in!!!! (I know, small problem, but I am no good at it!) There is me, my husband, and our 9 month old son. I am no good at picking stuff like this. Does anyone have any ideas I can use??!! I am thinking about keeping it casual and wearing blue jeans, but I don't know what color or kind of shirts to wear.
Thanks,
S.

I think one of the classic looks is black shirts and jeans. I am in the same boat. It's me, my husband and our 2.5 yr old son. Last yr I wore a red sweater, my husband wore an all black sweater and my son ended up in a red and black sweater. This yr I am wearing a red and white sweater and my guys are wearing matching red thermal shirts. Good luck.
White or black shirts would be good (depending on the background you use). Wear white shirts if you're going to be on a dark background and vice versa. It's always easy to find solid color turtle necks too.
We just did our family pics last weekend. We all wore black shirts and jeans, except for my son (the only kid) who wore a red Christmas shirt and jeans. They turned out really good! We just went to the Hurst public library (they have a nice little park outside) and my husband's aunt took the pics.
Also, take lots of pictures and poses. And since you have a baby, don't try too hard to make sure the pictures are perfect. Sometimes the best pictures are the ones you think will be the worst! This happened when my son started walking away in his fall pictures at the pumpkin patch, but now it's our favorite picture! If he's smiling, great! If not, don't worry about it! Have fun!
We just took pictures and wore jeans. My husband and I wore black sweaters with green scarves (not matching but blending) and our little girls wore green sweaters - so we all blended but weren't too matchy matchy. Anyway - the big thing to remember is to wear long sleeves or three quarter length. It is much less distracting for the eye. I know it will be great!
At a mini-family reunion we took a family photo and everyone wore jeans and white shirt. The shirts didn't necessarily look alike, just white. Some of the guys even wore simple white undershirts. We also went without shoes. We used a white drape background with black & white photos. You wouldn't think the white shirts on white background would look good, but it really did! We used Portrait Innovations in Ohio and I am already planning on using a local franchise here for our Christmas cards. I've heard many good things about the franchise locations in both Colleyville and Highland Village.
something comfortable that your 9 month old will be fine in. Also, make sure the colors coordinate well. Don't do all matchy, matchy...just make sure the colors go well together (like don't do navy blue and black)
We just did our family pictures in jeans and white shirts (we have dark hair so it helped stand out a little)
Hi,
Years ago someone suggested to me to find the outfit that I wanted to wear and then work from there finding clothes that look good together for the family. I have been doing that ever since and it works out great! Two times we had blankets that matched and we used it to sit on in the pictures. We usually take our pictures outside and they are my favorite! Taking pictures by the lake, beautiful trees, flowers, with your animals, parks, Dallas Arborteum, etc. are the best. If you are using your digital camera plan on taking 20 to 40 pictures and you will probably have at least 5 or more good pictures of everyone in your picture to choose from. I hope this information helps and that you are able to get a great picture! I love to take pictures!
