Family Friendly New Year's Eve Event-away from Home.

Board games marathon! I'm the youngest of 7 and we always would stay up playing board games and snacking on fun things. When midnight hit, we all had some sparkling cider, lit some firecrackers and then went to bed. It was something I looked forward to every year!! Sometimes we'd invite friends over too. :)

Our family is having a huge slumber party this weekend. So there will be games and munchies at night. People are bringing their sleeping bags and pillows, so I won't have to try to cover 18 additional bodies (or do all that laundry!). In the morning we're making a fairly simple, but yummy breakfast. Anyone who wants to be up to watch the parade with us can, and those who don't can sleep in and catch up later.

Check with the Rain Forest Cafe at Ontario Mills. I know RFC in Orange County has a NYE party that begins at 6 PM.

Last year I began a new traditon, A PJ New yeare! I gather my girlfriends with kids and we celebrate together wearing our pj's! The kids get to play and the grown-ups get to mingle. We also celebrate New York Time and that way the kids get to be part of ringing in the new year.

Games! Fun ones that are fast paced, involve a lot of people and shouting out answers! Gets everyone laughing!

We are having a "NY" new year's, whereas, we celebrate at 9 p.m. (midnight NY time). We are inviting over family with little one's. I bought a box of hats and blowers and decided that we would play some games. My daughter just got twister and thought that would be fun. The best part, everyone will be asleep by 10 p.m.
