Looking for some 1st hand recommendations for a really good family counselor. I have a dis-functional step family with a 17.5 y.o. son and a 19 y.o step-daughter. My son has been having some behavioral issues and step-dad is hands off with the attitude that HIS kid turned out fine so it's not his problem and he has no intentions of changing his life to deal with this. We need someone to get through to both kid and dad!

What can I do next?

I believe Pam Jacobs in Hillsboro, is a great person to see. I would recommend her personally. Open, caring, but gets to the point.

Dear C.:

I applaude you for seeking help. Teenagers can be very trying especially in a blended family. I see a WONDERFUL therapist individually and also with my daughter. She really understands kids and uses alot of techniques that blend the past with the present and changing skill sets. She has helped my daughter and I immensely.

Her name is Marjan Baradar and she is by the Target on BH hwy. ###-###-####.

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
