Facial Moisturizer with Sunscreen

I am looking for a good moisturized with some SPF protection. My problem that has kept me from them in the past is the greasy oily feeling. I have combination skin with some parts that can be plenty oily without any assistance. I am also quite fair-skinned, so I know I really need to wear some protection.
Do you have any suggestions for something that goes on smooth, absorbs well and won't leavy me feeling oily?
The catch is it needs to be something I can go to a local store; target, drug store etc to get. Please do list department store brands as I won't spend that much. Please do not suggest Mary kay, Avon or online brands as I am just not patient enough to order these. I would like to go to the store in the next day or two and get something. I am generally a fan of olay products, just never tried any particular sunscreen product, but willing to try another brand too.
Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

So What Happened?

I went with the aveeno positively ageless 30spf. Looking forward to giving it a try. I looked for the eucerin, as I'm a big fan of how gentle their stuff is, but couldn't find it. It's been a long time since I tried nuetrogena products because years ago their stuff would cause breakouts. Though I know they have a lot of new stuff, still leary. I
Thank you for all of your wonderful suggestions.

Neutragena has a great line of sunscreens that are grease-less and don't leave a white film. I'm a redhead so use the SPF 70 - was about $10 at Target. You can also get it in a lighter lotion version for a few $ more, but I'm quite happy with the std version. Used Aveeno for awhile but often had a white film I had to work in. I use these under a tinted moisterizer with SPF 15 and don't have problems with oily-ness or seperating.

Olay w/sunscreen has worked well for me for years. I'm fair skinned and haven't had any problems. I like it mainly because it is not oily.

Good Luck,

Aveeno Positively Radiant comes in SPF 15 or 30 and has a formula for sensitive skin. You can find it at most drug stores and Target. I tried the Target knock-off and it's greasy - not worth the $4 savings.
I have VERY sensitive skin and this is the only SPF I can wear without getting a rash.
It goes on great and you can wear make-up over it - I don't use foundation though so can't say how that would work.

I use L'Oreal Active Daily Moisturizer Lotion with SPF 15. It is very light, absorbs quickly and non greasy. It's getting harder to find (Target doesn't carry it anymore) but I can still get it at WalMart. It's very helpful for daily sun exposure but be sure to still wear extra sunscreen when doing outdoor activities.

I have used both Aveeno and Olay Complete. I think the Aveeno I used was the one for calming red dry skin, I don't remember what it was called, but it was not greasy to me. I have very dry skin, so they might feel different to you, but I like both of those. I think I used another Olay product a while back from the anti aging line that I liked also, but don't recall which it was. It was in the black packaging.

Most of my skin care products are prescription or bought online except for my SPF moisturizer. I use Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisture with SPF 30. I have combination skin that is prone to breakouts. It is very light and smooth and doesn't feel greasy at all. I think it works great!

I love Neutrogena moisture with spf. It absorbs just like the regular one. Olay products always make me break out and since I've tried Neutrogena I haven't needed anything else.

For the face, I prefer moisturizers/sunscreens with chemical blockers rather than physical blockers (like zinc) as the consistency tends to feel better on the skin.

La-Roche Posay is excellent. The active ingredient for their sunscreen is one of the best (Mexoryl). For a long time, you could not get it in the US, and then after a while, some dermatologists started carrying it. But a couple years ago, CVS started carrying it also, so if there is one near you, check it out. There is a moisturizer with sunscreen, and also an ultra-light sunscreen that is separate. It is not the cheapest. I think it's almost $30 for each. But you've only got one face so I figure it's worth it.

Or, you can try something from Aveeno? Their active ingredient is excellent as well. I am not as familiar with their product line although I am pretty sure they have decent moisturizers with sunscreen in them. I think the Positively Ageless line has SPF in it. There are also a lot of Neutrogena products that are also great. Aveeno and Neutrogena are both Johnson & Johnson companies. Neutrogena's sunscreen has Helioplex, another great chemical blocker.

Make sure you get something broad spectrum that blocks UVA & UVB rays.

Can you tell I'm a little obsessed with sunscreen? :-)

Good luck!

I have combo skin too as well as frequent breakouts. I use Olay complete all day moisture lotion spf 15 for combination/oily skin. It goes on nicely and absorbs within a minute. I think it only like $8 at Kroger. I love it!

I have been using Eucerin Sensitive Skin Everyday Protection with SPF 30 for years now. Sounds like we have the same type of skin. I too have fair, combination skin and sometimes break out. This NEVER makes me break out. It has no fragrance. Also, I can use it on my child's sensitive skin (Face) if I need to.

You can get it for about $8 or $9 at either Target, CVS or online.

Good luck!

I buy the Target brand Up and Up moisturizing lotion with SPF 15. I think it's equivalent to the OLAY one.
I also have mixed skin and find it nice and not too greasy.
Good luck!

I use Oil of Olay daily moisturizer. It has 15 spf, comes in 4 skin types: Oily, dry, combination and sensitive. I use sensitive. It is the only skin product I have been able to use without an allergic reaction, including several all natural lines.

I am a Clinique lover and use it daily, however for extra sunscreen protection, I like the oil free Coppertone for faces. They have a new one now that incorporates more moisturizers in the sunscreen.

I sitll use the Clinique moisturizers. They'll give you samples and the products last a long time. It is not that pricey in the long run. You get what you pay for.

Hi Mama-
I agree with the Eucerin bit. HOwever, it is somewhat greasy, but absorbs well. The only place I have been able to find any Eucerin stuff here in Bakersfield is at the Rite Aid on Panama. They have the Q10 cream that I love and the moisturizer with SPF.
If you have sensitive skin, be careful with the aveeno. It is good stuff, but for me- It made my skin break out worse.
I have also tried Neutrogena. Get the oil free one. Oil of olay is too greasy with their sunscreen.
My last bit of advice- this is what I do- wear makeup with spf and use your normal moisturizer. Then on arms, legs, ears, and neck, use ocean potion from Wal Mart or Some oil free coppertone or No Ad sunscreen. And wear a hat and sunglasses. =)
Its just that sunscreen makes my face feel like it is suffocating, so unless I am going to be outside all day, I go with the makeup route. I am ultra pale and ultra sensitive, too.
Hope that helps and that you find your niche!

Ah, you're a gal after my own heart, er, skin!! I cld've written this letter!

What I use is Eucerin sensitive skin moisturizer/sunscreen. There are 2, one I prefer but is now hard to find in the stores locally (boo!).

Eucerin everyday protection (spf 30) is the one I find easily.

The other one I first found & like better, but is harder to find now is Eucerin Q10 ... I think it's supposed to minimize wrinkles & fine lines... spf 15 (but works fine for me, I do apply it everyday). I either stock up or my husband, who loves to shop online, will order several bottles at a time from drugstore.com.

These don't seem to run into my eyes and sting as bad as most others. I still will wipe down or wash my face in the evenings though, so it's not 100% perfect (I will be checking the other responses as well.)

Hope this helps!

Olay Complete SPF 30. I have very, very fair skin and have to wear it year-round. It's hard to find one with a decent SPF like this that I can even use in the summer, but Olay has it. Eucerin also used to have one but I haven't seen it recently. I get burned with SPF 15, so 30 is essential for me.

Try Oil of Olay Daily Moisturizer with SPF15. I've used it every day for many years. It does not have a greasy feeling and it moisturizes and protects well, although if I'm going to be working out or sweating a lot I use a sport sunscreen on top of it. You can buy it in a 2-pack at Costco, but it is also available at CVS or almost any drugstore. My sister prefers the Neutrogena brand, which also has a variety of sunscreen lotions in several different strengths of SPF.

Best wishes.

Be careful with the lotions and products you use. Most cheap brands even some expensive use parabens as it is a inexpensive ingredient to preserve a product that if you google parabens it states it is a carcegenic and causes cancer.
I use a great line with no parabens and fruit base.

Good luck to you.
