Facial Cleaner

Can anyone recommend a good facial cleaner for sensitive skin? I am currently using Biore and I am really red and itchy after using it. I tried another product that did not cause me to have a reaction but it was really really expensive and I just recently had to get a dermatologist involved because I have terrible acne after my last child. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

I second the recommendation for Cetaphil. My dermatologist said it's what he recommends for sensitive skin. I've since switched to the Mary Kay Timewise cleanser, because I wanted to try something different (and I really like it), but I used Cetaphil for years. It's very good and very affordable.

I also used to use a soap called "Basis" back when I was a teenager, and it's also very gentle and very good. Hope this helps.

I've heard good things about Cetaphil for years. But why not call your dermatologist's office and ask? They surely keep up on all the products out there, and would be able to recommend something in your price range.

Purity from Philosophy.

I've been using it for years. It does not dry your face out and is a very gentle thorough cleaner. They've been saying is the best face wash on the market for years.

I like the Noxema cleanser with eucalyptus. It's the only one I've found without salicylic acid, which tends to dry out my skin. If you don't want to use a really strong cleanser, try taking a fish oil pill once a day. That helped clear up my skin better than any cleanser I've ever used.

Basis. It's harder to find but Ulta3 still carries it.

I use Olay Daily Facials Cleansing Cloths. I use the hydrating cloths but they also make some for sensitive skin. I used to use Philosophy's Purity Made Simple (I've used the regular and the foaming variety) and Philosophy's Microdelivery Wash (for exfoliating) but I like the Olay cloths much better. Everyone's skin is different and different cleansers work for different people. Good luck.

Mine is a simple routine and the acne is almost gone that has plagued me my whole life, with just occasional blemishes now. I use the Neutragena bar soap in the morning, before I hop in the shower, and again at the end of the day (as soon as I know I am in in for the night!).

Inexpensive, simple and works for me!

I know this is going to sound simple and country, but plain 'ol Dove bar soap is the best thing I have ever used on my face! (The white bar)
I worked in cosmetics many years ago, spent thousands of dollars on dermatology pushed cleansers when I had issues with my face, bought the cheepie stuff from the drugstore-NOTHING has helped better. Try it. At worse you may be out 2 bucks.
