Facial Care/Make-up Question

Morning Mamas! I am looking for a product that will help reduce the size of my pores. I have tried make-up primers, gentle cleansers, etc. and not having much luck. I don't have a 'black head' issue so much as a large pore issue on my nose. When I put on my make up in the morning, everything looks all nice and I am pleased. But by lunchtime, it is like the pores on my nose have swallowed up the make-up and it looks like I have polka-dotted nose. I don't want to put on more make-up but not sure what to try. When I have tried fillers/primers it still wears off; same with liquid vs. mineral based foundations. Anyone have a suggestion that won't cost me a fortune?
Thanks and have a great day!

What can I do next?

I'm using some sort of Garnier facial cleanser right now...comes in a bright green bottle, and has a rubbery scrub brush attached to the lid. It works well, but I'm sure any cleanser combined with an exfoliating type brush would do the same. For moisturizing, I use Pond's. Also using some L'Oreal age serum occasionally.

When you said "it is like the pores on my nose have swallowed up the make-up"....well, you said it right! I never, EVER wear makeup, and I am proud to say that I have very nice skin...and I attribute it to the fact that I am not clogging my pores with makeup. Could you be super brave and try going without it? I promise, you will see improvement within days.

Instead of makeup in the morning, use the Pond's...it gives your skin a nice, even tone. Just a little dab is enough!

(Also, not knocking makeup...everyone looks so pretty wearing it, but I hear some crazy stories about what it does to your skin and just think it's so much easier to go without it!)

This is supposed to work well, I've been meaning to try it.

Combine one egg white with 1 tsp of cornstarch - whip together with a fork until frothy. Apply to skin for 20-min. and rinse with warm water. Repeat 1-2x/week.

Steam your face, and use a good (not drying) pore-reducing cleanser. Concentrate on your nose. Use a cottonball to apply Witch Hazel to your face, focusing on your nose. Let your face breathe--no make-up--for a day or so (or for as long as you can). Just before you apply more make-up, do another steam and cleanse, using Witch Hazel as your astringent. Wet a soft cloth with cool water and set it on your face.

I use liquid foundation. I mix it with my moisturizer and rub it into my face like lotion, blending it smoothly. Then, I use a big, loose brush to apply powder and then bronzer. I don't love the matte look because it's not flexible. Successful matte looks require unnatural perfection, and I like to allow myself room to look natural for my everyday.

Are you using a primer before your foundation?

There are a lot of brands out there, some expensive, some not. They are clear, you spread it on thinly. They use silicone ingredients to fill in and smooth pores and lines. It washes right out later without damaging your skin.
