If I did a facebook acct. and set my controls at friends only is that the lowest setting, is there a private setting where I can't be searched?I only want it to have all my favs websites in 1 location and Facebook seems to do this so I think.Kinda of like Pineterest you "Like"and it stores it under your"Likes" is Facebook like this too?I would read all there is to know to FB if you didn't have to sign up first.

You can control everything in regards to privacy now. You can set things that only you see. And you can even friend people but put them in a 'restricted' capacity so they only see your public information. And yes you can keep yourself from popping up in the search box. But remember people could still see public things you post, even on a public fb page you "like". Create an account and mess with the privacy settings. You can always delete it if it doesn't meet your needs.

Well you can only narrow it down to Friends, and Friends only. If it didnt do that then whats the point of Facebook??? As far as the search thing, your're supposed to pop up if not, then your friends or whomever wouldnt be able to find you. If they arent your friends, and your page is on privacy settings just for friends, then they cant look through your pics, info, wall etc. No Facebook isnt like Pineterest. Facebook is for Chatting, updating status, playing games on apps, and searching up High School Classmates! Lol people do that. Kids (8-12) can even have a Facebook with a Parental Controls. 13+ doesnt have any but you can setup Parental Controls, Im not sure how you do that, but I wouldnt let a 8 year old have a Facebook. You can Like Pages on Facebook, and yes it stores it under your Likes, for example, say you like an artist Rihanna, it'll be under your likes. When you sign up, Facebook will take you through the guidelines on how to use it. Its simple and easy Im pretty sure you'll like it. I used to have one but I dont now, I really dont have time for it but my daughter has one and my sister.

Click on the work "Custom" when setting your FB account settings and it will allow you to completely have the option to not be found by anyone.
I have the options on the kids accounts set to this. If I log in on a friends account that is not already friends with them I cannot find them in the searches. even by friends of a friend. I have total complete control over their accounts.
