That's an assumption that you should make-that anyone can see it.
Can you tell who is looking at your page? If privacy settings are to "friends only" is there anything to be seen on your page by non-friends?
That's an assumption that you should make-that anyone can see it.
On your profile page, click Activity Log. In the drop down menu, click View As. It will show you how your page looks to the public. On that screen you can also type in someone's name to see what they can see on your page. I do this on occasion just to make sure that I haven't accidentally made something public that I didn't want to. If you have Timeline, you cannot make your cover photo private, but you do not have to have a cover photo.
The problem I have noticed with fb privacy settings, is the ticker that runs on the side of the newsfeed. It shows what all my friends are posting on other pages. It's there that I feel like I am eaves dropping, because it shows posts on other people's pages, people I don't know. I can't see their whole page, but I can see their post. I know I can hide the ticker, but I wish there was a way I could keep my posts from going on someone else's ticker. I can't figure out if you can hide from that and no one I have asked seems to know a way either. It's frustrating. Just another reason I never post anything too private on fb.
There is no reason to wonder if anyone is looking at your page, really, I don't understand that.
Do you mean if I type in my search area, let's pretend your name is S. Someone. If I type that name in I might get over 500 names. I might have to look at all 500+ names to find the one I am looking for.
When a stranger who is not your personal friend is looking at your name and sees your information they see your profile picture and the cover photo you have showing. Unless you have those set specifically to friends only.
But anyone can search out the name, they may be looking for anyone else with that name and not you but might be looking for that someone who they went to high school with.
So they have to look at a lot of profile pictures.
On the other hand. If you have your setting so that only your own personal friends can see what you post then no one can see your posts unless you post on someone else's wall.
If you and I were friends and it was my birthday. You come to my wall and wish me a happy birthday. All my friends can see what you posted on my wall but your own friends might not see it on your wall because it was a personal post directed at me. Again, that depends on how they have your settings on their own pages.
If I post a comment such as "name 5 things you would change about the government and explain why it needs to be changed and how you would implement the change?. If you posted a comment under my post then everyone who I am friends with can see your comment since it is not a personal comment just to me.
So mostly, your posts are only being seen by your friends. If you want to make sure something you are saying stays personal and not seen by anyone else but the person you want to see them, use messages.
You can't tell who is looking at your page.
There are some exceptions to "friends only", but I'm not quite sure what they are. I'll let someone who is more FB savvy answer that question.
