Eyeliner - Cherryville,MO

I have used Lancome definicils (cafe color) for some time now, but I notice it keeps running and looks a mess some days by 5pm. So, then I tried Mally Beauty eyeliner. It ran worse. What eyeliner do you recommend? I have dark hair and somewhat tan skin and green eyes so I can use dark eyeliner and quite a bit of it and it looks good.

*ETA: I should be clear - not running, just disappearing. My lower lids look like I didn't even put any on, it is like it got absorbed into my eyes, and my upper lid is definitely not nearly as dark as it was in the am. I don't use too much, just a good line. It just doesn't even look like I used it on my lower lid by noon.

*****I use an eye primer around my upper and lower lid - MAC. I wonder if it is too oily?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

*Maybe another part of my question should be whether all eyeliners disappear, especially on the lower lid, regardless of the brand?

I'm with Angeles -- Maybelline. Red plastic pencil, velvet black on the lower lids ever since high school. The couple of times I've tried others, I've hated them. It never runs unless I sob my eyes out, and even then, I think it's the mascara that runs, not the liner. Sometimes cheap is better!

I just started using Too Faced - they have a new waterproof eyeliner and their black is very good - creamy, glides on and stays on all day without smearing. I got mine at Beauty Brands.....

I use Almay Intense I-Color...the pencil. Never runs, & is hypo-allergenic to boot.

Cheap, too. WalMart carries it.

If it's running, it's because of the natural oils on your eyelids.
Try using a primer (I just use my concealer) before you apply eye makeup.
You could also try the ColorStay line from Revlon, in addition to that.

If you are lining the inner rim, then yes, it probably won't stay all day. Too moist there. If you are lining under the lashes on the bottom, try Clinique's Quickliner for eyes. It sets after about 60 seconds so you have time to soften/smudge, then will stay put all day. No smearing. No smudging. Inner rim is tricky, though. I don't like to line there(too close to your eyeball) and I don't think it looks good on the majority of people anyway. Can make your eyes look smaller if you have small eyes to begin with.

I have super watery eyes, too!

Try the Lancome Le Stylo waterproof. I use the cafe. It's dark brown. Bronze is nice too if you want something lighter. I used to use the Defincils until I found the waterproof one. It's retractile so you never have to sharpen!!

Also, I recently went away and forgot my eyeliner (GASP!!!). My mom had one called Style that she bought in Wallgreens. I borrowed it and it worked great. No smudges, etc.

BTW - the Style was pretty dark and stayed on no problem.

Try smudging a bit and adding more - that might help!

Try using a make up eye primer first - then try different liners - you may have oily lids contributing to the issue. In addition try setting your liner - pencil vs smudge stick or gel with powder. Brands I reccomend are Urban Decay - Too Faced - Smashbox - Stila. However I think your issue may be not using an eye primer my suggestions there are Too Faced or Bare Essentuals.

Go to the Sephora website.
Type in in the search box "waterproof eyeliner."
Many will come up and you can see the starred ratings and the reviews of the various brands.

I use the Almay brand eyeliner pencil. From the drugstore.
It doesn't give me problems and lasts.
I use it on the lower lid.

I use BareMinerals eyeliner. I have green eyes too and a dark brown eyeliner really makes them pop. I usually only wear it on the top lid most days but if I'm doing dinner or something like that I'll put it on the bottom lid too and smudge it in a little so it doesn't look so artificial. I really like the BareMinerals brand! They have some pretty good sales on Sephora right now -- http://www.sephora.com/bareminerals?om_mmc=esv104035-GG&a...

Majority of liners run....some worse than others. I've been a Maybelline eyeliner girl since HS and it hasn't failed me yet. Lancome and all those other fancy name eye liners tend to be softer, smoother, therefore run. Also....how much are you putting on that it's running?

Hello, I use Revlon, the kind you sharpen. I think the color is Mink, but they have a darker one as well. I had to change several years ago and this one works for me. Also, try the Almay for green eyes. It's a dark plum color and looks pretty when wearing greys and blacks. I too have green eyes and will use a plum/brown eyeshadow (lightly) from MAC with it. And just a suggestion, try a lighter brown instead of so dark. I think when you have colored eyes you should let me show verses the eyeliner. Know what I mean? Good luck, interested to see all the answers.

Hmm, I prime my eyes with a neutral shadow, above and below just to make it pop. The pencil that I prefer is the cheap-o one at the drug store. Those always give me great results.

I have used Avon's Glimmersticks for years and it doesn't wear off. I put it on in the morning, teach preschool, and then dance that night and it is still there when I get home at 9. Inexpensive too. Try yours without the primer and see. If it still is wearing off then try something else. Good luck and God Bless.
