So What Happened?

Laying on the couch and having him blink did the trick! Absolutely no problems! Thank you!

I wasn't too much older than that when I had to use eye drops & I didn't let my mom touch me with them so we went over to the older lady next door to get them in. My neighbor found it amusing, I found it comforting, & my mom found it irritating. (I was the one who insisted on going over there for her to help). Sorry I'm late with the response, hope it helps. Just see if there is someone else that he would prefer to have put the eye drops in.

We learned this trick when my kids were really little and it (almost) always works. Have him lay on the couch. Shut both eyes. You'll put the drop in the corner of his eye (nearest to his nose) while his eyes are shut. When he opens them, the drop goes right in. You might need to hold his hands and/or his head straight the first few times to help him stay still. While my kids don't like it, it's much easier on everyone than prying their eye open to put the drops in.

Are you licensed? How long? I'd love to meet. I have an inhome daycare in soco. I love to connect and be able to do referals. Anyway, laying the child on the floor with their head (well, head and body, but head closest)between your legs. Then you can put their arms and legs under your legs and their head is stabalized. All you have left is your two hands - one for holding open an eyelid and one for dropping! Safe, nobody's getting hurt and effective!Hopefully your belly's not in the way :) good luck

We did the same approach as the previous poster except after the drops were in place, we told our daughter to blink as fast as she could. This made it a game and she thought is was funny.
