Is anyone else feeling the pressures of trying to keep afloat with work, family, bills, and work? There seems to be so much pressure on both my husband and I, as we try to keep working in these trying times. At work, we are both understaffed and working harder to try to keep everything going and hold on to our jobs. I realize there are so many people out there out of work and am happy we are both still working, but I am feeling the stress.

YES!!!! I feel the same ways! I also feel guilty about feeling stressed for the same reasons. I think it's good to remind ourselves of others struggles but knowing that we have only our own life to cope with.

Taking time to breath and step away is so important. Time with the family is most important but time for you is also. Taking time for yourself recharges your battery so you can enjoy your family more. Or even changing something in your daily routine can help the stress go down.

Good luck, We all feel it honey!

yes it is very stressful. We decided to everyday talk a bout the best thing that happened that day with ourselves and the kids. sometimes the best thing was Mommy told me she loved me today" Well the kids put it all in perspective. the focus on something positive has helped. We also are taking lots of extra B vitamins(seriously). Good luck.

You are not alone! I try to take some time either before bed or in the shower (the few quiet moments I have) to mentally make a gratitude list of all I am thankful for. It reminds me of my many blessings (family, husband, healthy kids, jobs, living in the US.... ) and helps me get through one day at time! Hang in there, and as another poster said - try to find some time (even a little) to do what makes you happy and recharge your batteries - time in nature, picnic with husband, dinner with husband etc.

Yes, yes, yes!!!!

Last May, I was laid off from a high-paying job. Unlike some of my colleagues who were also laid off, I was fortunate to return to work quickly, but there's been a huge financial strain as I'm making considerably less.

In the back of your mind, you wonder, "If it happened once, when will it happen again?".

The pharmaceutical industry is literally imploding upon itself currently, and just about every week, another company is slashing jobs. People no longer have the luxury of challenging the company's status quo and trying to make recommendations for improvement. It's become a "do as we say" or "we can easily replace you" world.

You are not alone in feeling the stress, and I often wonder when it will break us. My Oncologist is concerned about the stress causing a recurrence of my cancer - that stresses me out even more!

Good luck! Hoping you make it through OK.
