Extra Large Birthday Party - Where to Have It?

We are having a combined birthday party for our son (turning 5) and our daughter (turning 3). We are doing one party because most of our family is out of town and comes for the party - including several cousins around the same ages that our kids love to play with. Unfortunately, between preschool friends, Sunday school friends, neighbor friends and cousins the guest list is getting crazy. Not only with the kids coming but the parents/adults and with children this age I think it is important that a parent be there. We have been invited to these childrens parties so I really do not want to cut anyone out if I can avoid it. The problem is where to have it? All the places we have looked at (Bounce u up, Bogies, etc) are about 25 kids and you can then pay extra per child up to a maximum of 30. I am afraid that we will have more than that in attendance. I have thought about having it at a park with delivered pizza and cake but what if the weather is bad? The party will be in early May. Any suggestions or ideas? I really do not want to host 35 - 40 kids at my home along with another 35-40 adults.

What can I do next?

Bouncin Bonkers in Cresthill can give you the entire place if you have that many people. We had a big family party there with 50 people (only 20 kids). I sent my parents, aunts ,older folks with no kids to Brickhouse Pizza next door when we had pizza for the kids. It was a little more civilized for the elders that way! Then they all came back for cake etc. Also we extended the party an hour for $50. It was worth it!Good luck!

You might want to check with the local park districts to see what types of indoor venues they offer for rent. The Bolingbrook Park District rents out various locations. You can even have a private rental of their indoor pool (at Pelican Harbor Aquatic Park) with 2 water slides, a drop pool, and a 10 person hot tub for $359 up to 50 guests, extra guests are $7/person. You could nix the pizza and just provide cake to keep the extra cost down. Still pretty pricey, but it'd allow you to include everyone and not have inclement weather ruin the party.

luigies in aurora has party rooms. they have an arcade , lazer tag and climbing wall. you can be out of the main dining room and it will give you some privacy while allowing you food and whatever else you need. just a thought but they are pretty good pizza and other foods

Have you checked out the Dupage Childrens Museum in Naperville? I had my daughters 1st birthday there and plan on doing them all there! Great staff, we wanted to bring our own food, and ALL the kids loved it, including their parents. Good luck and I hope you find a place that works for you!
