I tend to check out a booth if there are free samples.
what kinds of things have worked to get people to your booth at an expo?
Thank you everyone. Mine is a information type table. So any suggestions on what kind of free stuff?
I tend to check out a booth if there are free samples.
Free stuff, interactive displays, short survey rewarded with (surprise!)
free stuff, hotel door drops with a teaser to bring by for a free gift, raffles, chance at a " winning" key (mailed ahead) to a "treasure chest"...
small giveaways, like candy, pens, stress balls, etc. People will come by to take the free stuff and, if you're lucky, they'll stop and ask you about your product.
Another thing I have seen that can work really well is to provide a bag for people to carry all of their other freebies and handouts in. Look into the cost of printing bags with your info on them. Hand those out to anyone who stops by and hopefully people will see them being carried all around the expo.
Raffles are good too, especially if the winner does not have to be present. It's also a good way to collect customer information.
What type of products?? I have worked hundreds of product shows so I will have a bit better idea. I have a great literature stand that was. A ufactured to display kids books. Let me know, I believe I can help!

I'm with Tracey77--free stuff:)
I just had a booth at an expo and put up a video showing off some research the group I work for does. It was a close up of a rotifer eating algae and it looked pretty cool. It really drew people in. We also do research making cassava root have more nutrition to try to help fight malnutrition problems in sub-sahara africa. I had some cassava roots and a big bowl of cassava chips for people to try. I also smiled and chatted with people as they walked by.
Free stuff and raffles, also having music playing.
