I am a second grade teacher and my students love "Kick To Be Fit" and "Tae Bo Kicks". I don't know if I have those titles exact, but if you go to Amazon you should find them.
I've been on the lookout for a fun exercise video for kids, to keep my young-uns (and me!) moving when the weather's bad...any tried-and-true suggestions? I've seen lots of recommendations for yoga videos before, but I'm not really interested in that...Thanks so much for your help!

Hi J..
I don't know how old your kids are, but my young kids loved "Chicken Fat". It was a recording done by Robert Preston (the Music Man) when I was a kid in the 60's, but my kids still love it. There isn't a video, but you can record it onto a CD. Here is the youtube link:

Listen to it and see if it is appropriate for their age level. It is short, but does get the heart rate up and it is lots of fun. I still like it too. The other one my kids loved when they were really little was Elmosize. Now that they are a little older (8 and 12) they still love Chicken Fat, but also do the Leslie Sansone walk CDs with me. They are easy, but get the heart rate up.
I was glad to see you are homeschooling too. I homeschooled all along until this year. I'm a single mom now and actually have been homeschooling as a single mom while working full-time (my boss allowed me to bring them to the office and work part-time from home), but this year it just got too hard. Good luck to you. It is a great thing for your kids and I hope it works out for you!

I don't know how old your kids are, but my 2 and 5 yr old like the elmocize video. It isn't too long so they don't lose interest. If your kids are older though, it will probably by too young for them.
Hi J.,
If you are ever interested in coming to an indoor class, you are more than welcome to try Moms' Gym with your kids. It is a P.E.-style class where you get a workout by simply playing with your children.
They learn sports skills, while you do drills and everyone gets some exercise!
If you would like more information, please feel free to visit our website at moms-gym.com or call me at ###-###-####.
Good luck!

Denise Austin has good tapes for every shape and size and she too had children of her own, so she is well aware of the need for keeping our children fit. you may want to google her and see what she offers.
I rented out 6 fit kids workouts just to try it out and my kids loved it, I liked it too, even my husband got involved :) It's fun! You should try it out :)

Elmocize is fun. I've found that most kids enjoy Richard Simmon's exercise videos. Sweatin' to the Oldies, etc., as they are fun & the music is good. Good luck! C.
We recently released a yoga video that is great for parents and toddlers - and the parent section continues to work even when your children are no longer toddlers, or before they reach it.
It is called TOT YOGA and you can find it online at http://totyoga.com and amazon.com or at retailers in NY and DC.
Middle School kids at a school I used to sub at loved Tae Bo.
Check out Tone and Tune (www.toneandtune.com). It is an exercise DVD for moms and babies to get back into shape, spend quality time together and learn key early learning concepts all at the same time. Older kids can grab a doll and workout with their "babies." It is fun - I had my baby 4 months ago and I've lost my pregnancy weight plus some. This video is fun for me, my baby and my oldest child.
