I'm glad you are going to the doctor tomorrow, since what you are describing is definitely a sign of diabetes. Talk to your doctor about it for sure!
I am five weeks along and have been experiencing excessive thirst. I have been keeping a record of how much I've been ingesting and between water (and some gatorade) I've been getting at least 120 oz. and I am still parched!! Anyone else experience this?? I'm going in to the doctor tomorrow for a fasting blood glucose, as I do have a family history of Type 2 diabetes. But I am only 5 weeks!! It is very disruptive between bathroom breaks and waking me in the middle of the night to drink. What is going on?

Diabetes definitely jumps to mind. Hopefully that isn't the case, but it sure sounds like it. I'm glad you're going to the doctor tomorrow, too!
I thought that I had heard that coconut water does a better job at quenching thirst than water, but I can't find anything to back that up. Although - it does have a ton of health benefits without all the garbage in drinks on the shelf. There's a brand - Zico - that's the only one I have heard of. good luck!
Sounds like me when I had gestational diabetes!
Looks like you already went to the dr. But, I had this same issue with both of my pregnancies and I did not have gestational diabetes with either of them. I have always drank a lot of water and it was even more with pregnancy and even more now with nursing. Hope everything went well with your visit!
I agree with those who say that there is something very healing about birth and I hope your upcoming birth is a great part of your healing. I am so sorry for what you have been through and do not in any way want to minimize your pain or the impact it has on your anticipation of this new baby. There are many crisis pregnancy centers that offer post-abortion counseling as well as super support for this pregnancy and the baby when it comes. We have one in our town and about 4 or 5 within a 50-mile radius. I think it would be so helpful to find a good one--make sure you get a counselor you click with and see what they offer. If you need a directory for your area, let me know.
