Excessive Sweating (& Deodorant on Other Areas of the Body Besides Pits?)

Anybody try this? Does it work? Is it safe? I've had an embarrassing problem with profuse sweating for about 5 years now. It's really been affecting my life. I hate going to social events any more because I'm scared that I'll be dripping with sweat (and I usually am). I've decided to employ the help of an endocrinologist, but since I'm pregnant now, I'm going to put it off until my hormones stabilize after the baby is born. Anyway, I was thinking... since I don't sweat in my pits (must be the deodorant), perhaps anti-perspirant elsewhere?

Or perhaps any other ideas to control sweating?

What can I do next?

Like Jaycee I use it under my breast. My cousin who is a nurse told me to use gold bond. I tried it and it burned really bad. I have sensitive skin so i am back to the deordorant under the boobs. I will be watching for answers that I can use too. Thanks for asking this question.

I have used it under my (large) breasts. I have also heard of people using it on their palms and feet.

In the summer I run a line of deodorant over my panty line. (staying away from the girly parts :)
It is effective.

Are there any other health concerns? Are you overweight? Do you run "hot" in addition to your excessive perspiration? How is your diet/ exercise? Have you always had this problem or did it come along with kids?

I used to use stick deoderant/ anti perspirant on my stinky feet to keep them in check. I would be wary of using too much of anything though while pregs.

Good luck to you and yours,

If you read the warning labels on antiperspirant-deodorants that go under the arms, they all warn NOT to apply it anywhere else.

What you're describing is a medical condition called Hyperhidrosis. It does need to be treated. I wouldn't put it off but see if there's anything they can help with during pregnancy.

I'll use an arasol deodorant in the summer sometimes on my feet if I'm not wearing socks and it helps. I'm not sure about the more private areas - I think it would be irritating.
