I am not sure why the doctor would worry about that. I had two pregnancies. I had lots of water! My 1st baby every one thought I was having twins, until my water broke! I had a flood from my bedroom to the bathroom. My 2nd baby the doctor broke my water. I had a bigger flood! I was soaked in the stinky stuff and the water was running over the bed and on the floor! The doctor and nurses couldn't believe how much water I had. Each time I had just one baby! The only thing is water is heavy so you are going to be carrying allot of extra weight. I lost 40lbs when I had my son. He weighed 8lb 9oz, the rest was water. Both of my babies were healthy. I was heathly before and during my pregnancies. If you are healthly and take care of your self you should be ok.

Hello, My name is Monique and I am training to be a doula.
I have two children of my own and have attended half a dozen births....I have never heard of too much amniotic fluid.

I would first recommend to take this with a grain of salt. EveryBODY is different. I would really focus on staying calm, eating healthy, exercising (walking, swimming) and try not to stress over an OPINION. Remember Dr.'s are just people too, and you know your body best. If you feel okay I wouldnt worry about it!!

If you are interested in Doula services feel free to contact me!!

Best wishes. Safe journey...and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!

Honey......
Just relax. That is the most important thing.
I went through tribulations......
My children turned out just fine. Better than fine.
It sounds like you haven't been diagnosed yet with anything for sure so don't get scared just yet.
You may not have a single thing to worry about.
Just be sure that you are eating a healthy diet and getting as much rest as possible.
Then refer to the specialist.

Bless you!

My advice (and it's easier said then done) is to NOT WORRY ABOUT IT!. The same things happened to me in my first pregnancy and I was very upset. But it turns out that it was just an inaccurate measurment. I did tend towards measuring a little bit throughout my pregnancy, but my baby turned out just fine. I did a little research and these measurements are very inaccurate. It's a good idea to see the speciast, but until then I hope you can put your mind at ease.

Hi H.,

I had the same problem when I had my youngest son, not sure what the specialist would say, my doctor told me that the baby was just swimming in more water LOL I did have pre eclampsia and stayed in the hospital for 3 weeks but, not sure what caused the extra fluid. don't worry I am not saying this will happen to you.

everything will be fine, just follow the doctors directions and wait for the teasing when I was in the hospital I had nurses hoping I didn't go into labor on their shift because of all the water LOL

take care

The same thing just happened to me. My son is now a month old, but right around the same time as you I started measuring big. I went to the specialist and they said I had extra fluid. I had to do a non-stress test 2 days a week and have the fluid measured once a week. All a non-stress test is, is listening to the heart beat for a certain extended amount of time....I was going to be induced 9 days before my due date because of the fluid, but my water broke the morning of the induction. The biggest problem I faced because of the extra fluid was he never engaged because he was too boyant so I had to have a c-section. Having extra fluid is not a huge thing, just something they like to keep an eye on. I had extra fluid and my son is perfectly healthy!! I was really worried about this the whole time, but in the end, everything was fine. Try not to worry about it too mich because chances are everything is fine.

I agree with the other moms...relax. I have two children and early on in both pregnancies I had abnormalities. We saw genetic specialists and were given more in-depth tests. Everything was fine for both. I think with all our technology the doctors can detect more irregularities/abnormalities than before. I was glad my doctors were cautious and I felt we were in good hands. It is hard not to worry. Try not to get ahead of yourself and start thinking the worst scenario. Congratulations!

H.,

Try not to worry. A lot of times doctors try to be on the safe side by getting another opinion. I looked it up online and it could be signs of maternal diabetes or genetic defects. I had a similar experience and had to go for further testing--they thought my son had neural tube defects. He didn't--he is absolutely perfect! So just look at it as getting more information about your baby-- you will be fine~
