Hi! I am trying to research ahead and was hoping I could get some advice on great pediatricians in the Richardson area. I live in Murphy [Near East Plano] and my baby is due in January 2009. I would prefer an MD with flexible hours, weekend and evening hours. Thanks so much in advance for all of your help!!!

John R. Porter is excellent. He has a small office and a friendly staff. He also has a female pediatrician there on Monday's as well as any day he is not in. My daughter who is approaching adolescence like to see Dr. Peck. He is located at Floyd and Arapaho just east of 75. Good Luck!

Dr. Alan Yedwab - ###-###-#### - he is WONDERFUL! I never have to wait longer than maybe 3 minutes in the waiting room when I have an appointment. I have three kids and he has been seeing all three of them since they were born. I actually travel from Mesquite to take them to him because he is that good. He always remembers my children's names and that is without the charts in front of him (we ran into him at the Wildflower festival). I am not sure if his office is taking new patients, but the whole office is very sweet and the nurse, Claudia, is so great at giving shots that neither of my girls ever cry when getting them - to me that is worth the drive! Good luck!

We use Dr. Myron Rosen. He is with Pediatric and Adolescents of Garland...part of Baylor Garland. He is wonderful--very thorough, soft spoken and the kids love him. He has two young children of his own. His nurse is great too. We have also been seen by three of the partners (when we went in on a Saturday or his day off) and were pleased with them as well. They have extended hours from 5-6p and Saturday walk-in from 8a-12p. You do have to pay a $25 fee above your co-pay if you come in during those times. His office is in the Pavilion off of Walnut (behind the hospital). Office # ###-###-####

Hello,

We see Dr. Minal. She has been wonderful to us and incredibly attentive. She does not have a huge practice so You can get intouch with her anytime of day or night literally. Here is her website

http://www.totstoteenspeds.com/

She is open on Saturday mornings and she also stays until 6:30 on Mondays. We had another pediatritian picked out and she was the on call pediatritian when I had my son. We liked her SO much and were so impressed with how she treated us at the hospital that we decided to continue seeing her. Her staff is super attentive. She is a mother herself and has just been really wonderful with our little one and ourselves! Good luck!

We see Norah Randles who is the other physician in the practice with Steven Crow. Love the practice!! They are so sweet, all of the staff know my kids names, we always are able to get in the same day, always get a return phone call, the nurses in the office are RNs with pediatric ICU experience. I can't say enough good things about the practice!!

I take my son to Dr. Julie Poole, also in the same building as Dr. Daniel and Dr. Mattheau described below.
All three are in the same building at North Star and Renner, but they maintain seperate practices.
My only concerns so far, is that we have to wait a while sometimes becuase other appointments are scheduled at the same time, and Dr. Poole tends to talk really fast, which annoys me. Also, she is new to the area and wasn't familiar with the hospital nearby where I gave birth, (RRMC) though she was there every morning while I was there, to check on my son. She has two elem age kids herself. She isn't into the delayed vaccination schedule or holistic approach, she's pretty mainstream. Her nurses are good though, and caring when it comes to the shots. We did meet with her before the baby was born, which you should definitly do. I guess the main reason we chose her was location (just down the street from our house). We know Dr. Mattheau personally so thats why I didn't choose him (conflict of interest), but I definitly recommend him.

Dr. John Porter on Arapaho & Floyd. He is the best...and I should know...he's my 5th. He is calm and right on the money with every diagnosis he's done for us. I am extremely picky and I would recommend him to anyone! His # is ###-###-####.

I use Dr. Daniel who is right next door to Dr. Mathieu's office. When Dr. Daniel is out we have seen Dr. Mathieu as well. The offices are seperate and you only see the other Doctor if your Doctor is on vacation. We love Dr. Daniel. He is great with the kids and we never feel rushed. He is easy to talk to and always answers all my questions. The couple of times I've seen Dr. Mathieu I was impressed with him as well. Both are great Doctor's.
