Every Info About Preschool (And Childcare for a 20 Month Old) Needed

(Hey, my grandma lives in Dayton lol).
The free preschool is for kids who are 4&5, who just need a little prep before Kindergarten. (hence, named pre-k). My nieces were in it and it's only 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. it's at a regular elementary school. they have afternoon classes and they have morning. they fill up quick, though, and that's why my nieces had to go out of district for it.
there is free childcare throught he government. here it is called ccms....not sure about ohio. if you want to qualify for that, then you have to be in school at least 25hours a week, or work 25 hours a week. If it drops below that, they will take your kids off the program. you can probably find out more through the health and human services in your county.

There are head start programs that counties offer that are like preschool, but that usually is for a few hours one or two days a week. It is for 3-5 year olds usually. Preschools that can be used as a childcare are usually pretty expensive. You should check with your local government or county and see what type off child care assistance you could qualify for if you were to go back to school. Also some states have grants for childcare if you are a full time college student. I hope that you find something that will assist you in furthuring your education. In todays world you really can't survive without it. Best of luck!

Unfortunately, unlike many countries, we don't have free universal preschool. Regular public school doesn't start until kindergarten, at age 5. Like other moms have suggested, you can look into whether you qualify for Head Start or government assisted childcare programs--these are usually based upon income (i.e., your family has to make less than a certain amount to qualify). You should also inquire at the school you are thinking of attending--some colleges have reduced-rate childcare available for students. Finding quality affordable childcare is tough, unfortunately--good luck!
