Ever Heard of Castor Oil Being Used for Severe Eczema Symptoms?

My 3 yr old suffers from eczema. My sister said her friend swears that topically applying Castor Oil greatly relieved her son's severe eczema. I currently use Aquaphor, mild baths, Aveeno oatmeal baths, and constant hydration to keep my little girl's eczema under control. I googled Castor Oil and it seems to be used for dry skin conditions. Anyone of you had experience or heard of it being used for eczema?

What can I do next?

Elisabeth-First of all you should not use aquaphor, aveeno or any of that. It all has petroleum, vaseline or mineral/baby oil in it. It is very very bad for your skin. It is an oil (yes the stuff we put in our cars) derivative and seals the skin shut. Put her in a bath with hydrgen peroxide and epsom salts instead you can add pure natural oatmeal.

Olive, coconut, castor oils are all great skin healing oils. They are of course from natural sources. If you can not eat it--do not put it on your skin. Dairy is also a trigger for eczema!!

This lotion comes with a 100% money back guarantee. I do not sell this lotion. However, I'm a preferred customer and I can show you how you can shop as a PC and have it delivered right to your door. As a matter of fact, new PCs receive an 80z bottle for free the first time they shop.

Hi Elisabeth,

Anything made with mineral oil or petroleum will clog the pores even more, you will have to read the labels. I agree with Toni, use coconut, grapeseed or avocado oils are best, however, most skin conditions are related to ones diet. What you eat will effect your skin. Eczema is typically related to dairy and have known plenty of moms that have rid of dairy in the kids diet and eczema cleared right up. Rice or Almond milk is a great dairy alternative. Another culprit is peanuts/tree nuts, and surprisingly bananas; so you would have to do an elimination diet to see results and what is the culprit. Dr. Rapp's book, Is This My Child? www.drrapp.com has a whole section on eczema and food intolerances. It is a must have in one pareent's library.

Reply back if you have any more questions. Good luck!

Yes it worked for my sister but she took it as a supplement.
I also noticed after 3 months of taking Omega supplements my chronic dry skin is better than ever.

You know what really works? Coconut Oil. I buy Tresomega Nutrition brand and use it on my grandchildren. They both have eczema and it seems to work. I buy it at amazon.com or sams.com.

Hi Elisabeth Z
When you treat Eczema, you need to treat the outbreak as well as the triggers.
