Ever Got Married in Vegas??

I got married in Vegas 4 years ago in March. We were married at the Candlelight Wedding Chapel on the strip. It was fun and quick. They picked us up at the hotel in a limo (We stayed at the Pyramid) and drove us there and brought us all back there. We had dinner at the hotel we stayed at because it was a nice restaurant and we must have have about 10 other people with us. I didn't want anything huga at all! It was very inexpensive compared to having a big one here and then you can come home and throw a reception party for the people who missed it and they can enjoy the video and pictures! Our friends took our pictures and she had some color film and some black and white film. My husband and I were married in Vegas 4 years ago in March as well. He had been married before, and neither of us wanted a big wedding. Since my parents loved going to Las Vegas, we decided to get married there. We stayed at Circus Circus (his family was staying there) and got married at the Stratosphere. I believe the whole cost for the chapel, champagne, minister, etc. was $550. I booked everything online with the Stratosphere, and called to verify everything a day or two later. We got married at night, so we had a view of the strip with all of the neon lights, which made for beautiful pictures. We took our own pictures, but they also provide a photographer for around $500 (at least it was at that time). All our guests attended at their own expense. Everyone said it was a lot of fun. I was against a Vegas wedding at first, but am truly glad we got married there.

my friend also got married in vegas... i don't remember which hotel, it was near the end of the strip... but i remember it being really nice and intimate, and she was relatively stress free on the arrangements... it was definitely a nice wedding and all, we had tons of fun =)

My husband and I got married in Vegas 8 years ago. It was perfect. We are not gamblers at all we just wanted to do something that was about us - not a big day that costs a lot of money and forces you to be mingling with a crowd of people instead of spending it with each other. We stayed at the Reno and were married at the Chapel of Love. They picked us up in a limo - took us to the courthouse for our license - to the chapel to get married and dropped us back off. A friend of ours surprised us and was our best man and maid of honor!! We spent a week there and did some site seeing and relaxing by the pool - we were there in April and the weather was extraordinary. I would highly recommend it - my brother got married that same year and his photographer cost what my entire wedding did! We had a reception at our house a couple of months after we got back - we had a lot of fun at that as well. Good luck and congratulations!!

Hey my husband and I got married in Vegas. We too wanted a small wedding with just close family and friends. We did it at the statoshere. We also stayed there because it was the cheapest...but you do not have to stay there to have your wedding there. You can rent out the chapel and then go have pics taken at the top of the stratoshere. T hat is what we did. Really inexpensive and then we went to a nice place to have dinner and a little privacy. they provide the priest/judge to marry the two of you. You just have to pay him 50 dollars. I was married once prior to this and he is 33 and was never married. On my last wedding I spent a lot of money 30,000 and it really was pretty but it was for everyone else not really myself. I still had a wedding dress and went to a spa to get my hair and makeup done..the pampering you should have on your wedding day. My aunt got married in Vegas just this last August. She lives in Phoenix along with 2 of her sisters. Some other sisters and nieces live in Illinois, Florida and Minnesota. She got married outside in a nice flower covered pavillian at Tropicana. It was a very nice ceremony, and for the dozen or so people at the wedding the bench area for seating was just the right size, there was only maybe 3 rows. We didn't feel lost in a huge room. I might have pictures of the wedding party standing in the pavillion, I could e-mail you. Ask me at ____@____.com was a little hot in August, but the rest of the family (not the bride and groom) stayed at Harrah's on the strip, sharing hotel rooms, 4 to a room. There was a pool and hot tub to hang around during the day. I was able to economize since I couldn't afford the trip in the first place by getting my coffee at McDonalds right next door for about a quarter of the Harrah's price. Margaritas were a buck at the little hole-in-the-wall casino just past McDonalds, while Harrah's wanted $8.00 (for a larger one, but still). There was also a t-shirt shop between the McDonalds and the casino where I got souvineers shirts for a couple bucks each.

Sometimes the fountain across the street would have a big music/fire/water show. I'm sure there was a schedule, but on my way out for another margarita I caught parts of it.

I don't gamble much, but would LOVE to go back to Vegas and spend a little more time just walking/looking around. In August it was really too hot to take a walking tour.

My girlfriend got married at the Flamingo. They (the hotel) took care of everything and it was BEAUTIFUL! All she had to do is show up. I'd say go for it.
