Sorry I am sure this is way super stupid question, but I have to ask. Okay, so Last month I was a few days late on cyle, thinking due to stress from my son having surgery. I took tests and all were negative. This month I have kinda suspected pregnancy though. I have had sore chest, super tired, moody, hungry, ect. I know that all can be period symptoms as well. Here is question, since I was late by 4 days last month not sure when I am truly to start this month cycle. My normal cycle would mean today but from last months cycle could be as late as monday. Well, yesterday I bought 2 dollar store test. Went home and took 1. I had drank water right before going to store and took it in middle of day. Took it and looked negative, so threw away right away. With my 2 sons my prego tests came positive immediatly. Well, a few hours passed and I looked, I know I know this is a DO NOT DO, well there was a faint faint line but had pink, but super faint. Well I spotting and was cramping thought for sure I was gonna start and was evap line. Well no more spotting or cramping. I was super thirsty last night, I thought was sign I was gonna start period, so I did have lots of water before bed. Well at 1am I took 2nd test, again looked negative, so threw away and back to bed. I got up this morning and looked just cuz I could not help myself and again a super faint line. So has this happen to anyone? Still no period, no spotting, but kinda crampy every once in while. I am sure its just evap lines, but just had to ask :)
It does sounds like evap lines to me. Maybe wait a couple more days and test again if no period. When I was pregnant....even VERY early on, the line always showed up pretty quickly, even if it was light.

All tests say this, and there is a reason. If you were pregnant, there would have been two lines from the beginning. If you truly think you're pregnant, wait a week, and take the test first thing in the morning. Don't drink water to take the test.
It's probably an evap line, which the dollar store tests are famous for, but I would buy an expensive test and double check. I love peeing on a stick, lol!
I think you might be pregnant, but the positive line will not show up within the 5 minute time-frame if the pregnancy hormone is diluted from drinking too much water. Use your first morning urine...the more yellow it is, the more accurate it will be. (If your urine is really clear, it might be too diluted.)
Last month, I took a dollar tree test 6 days before my missed period. It was negative. 10 minutes later, I looked at it and it had a SUPER-faint line. (So I would have been 3 weeks & 1 day at this point)
That day I drank a TON of water.
The next day, I took two tests--both negative. :(
The next day, I took a test: positive within the time-frame. :) (3 weeks & 3 days)
The dollar tree tests are one of the most accurate tests you can buy, because they detect HCG at 25 ml. I wouldn't waste money on a "better"/more expensive one...I would just wait a day or two until you're further along. You're really supposed to wait until you're period is due--which I think for you is Monday. Good luck--I hope you get the results you are hoping for! :-)
You should take one with first morning urine becuase results will be more accurate with the hormones built up. Also the short spotting could have been implanation..? i had that with my second. If nothing by tomorrow morning I would take another... don't do it in the middle of the night and wait for 3 or 5 mintues like the box says... or better yet, get a digi.
I took 2 tests w/ my son.
Woke up on a Saturday early. Took the test. Thought it read negative. Went back to bed.
2 hours later, looked at it again. There was the faintest line ever. I mean it strained my eyes to see it.
2 days later took another test and the line was only the tiniest bit darker.
Did you say you spotted but didn't start your period?
That to me is a big sign!
Wait a day or two and retest! First thing in the morning!

Wait until you are officially "late"- in your case 3 or 4 days late just in case. Even the best HPT are wildly inaccurate until then.
Also (only because we just used them a few months ago) the instructions say to wait ___ minutes before checking, but make sure to check within ___ minutes/hours. This is why!
