Estrogen Dominance and Fibroid

I am 32 done having children and I have an 11cm fibroid on my uterus that is causing difficulty urinating. I ended up in the e.r. a few weeks ago because I couldn't per for three hours. I had a catheter for 2 weeks, but that is out now and I am able to urinate. However I am terrified I will end up in the e.r again. My Dr has mentioned to me that I have too much estrogen because of my breast tenderness and acne. I also have cysts on my ovaries too. And now I find out about this large fibroid. But my Dr will not order a hormone test. I am desperate for a diagnosis so I can treat my condition properly. I am hoping to get the gyno to order the test, but haven't heard back from her. Has anybody treated estrogen dominance naturally and had fibroids go away? I am terrified of surgery, but I am also terrified of urine retention. Considering myomectomy, but the gyno says that she won't know if a hysterectomy is avoidable until I am already in surgery. I am really looking for natural treatments and would love to hear about your experiences.

What can I do next?

Are there any treatments for too much estrogen, natural or otherwise? I suggest you need to make an appointment to talk more about the options for you. Find out more about the condition. Ask why the doctor won't order a hormone test. If you haven't seen a gynecologist, that is who you need to see. You need much more information before you'll know what is best for you to do.

As for the fibroid, there is no treatment that will reduce it's size. So if you have difficulty urinating because of it, treating the too much estrogen will not change that condition.

I suggest that knowing your hormone levels will not help you with a diagnosis and treatment. It's just one small facet in making a diagnosis. You need to be working with a specialist to find ways of treating these conditions. And you, alone, cannot treat these conditions. You must work with medical people. If you want a more natural way of doing so then find a naturopath.

Here is a website that talks about estrogen dominance and a natural approach to treatment. http://www.womentowomen.com/menopause/estrogendominance.aspx

However, it does not say what conditions are caused by estrogen dominance. Again, I urge you to get more information from a gynecologist.

Here is a site that lists the conditions that can be caused by estrogen dominance. http://www.drnorthrup.com/womenshealth/healthcenter/topic...

It does not mention fibroids or ovarian cysts. I've had both and did not have estrogen dominance. I've had breast tenderness and acne as well as hormone level tests. I have not had estrogen dominance. The breast tenderness is caused by normal hormone fluctuations. The acne was roseacea.

You really do need to consult with medical people. Take this one step at a time. Breath deeply. Again. Again. Relax.

Look for a doctor who prescribes Bio-Identical Hormones. You can usually get a referral from a Compounding Pharmacy in your area. A doctor who prescribes Bio-HRT is usually better at looking not only at blood levels but symptoms as well.
I agree with the recommendation of seeing an ENT to make sure there isn't an underlying problem. And defiantly see your GYN too.
I'm sure there are multiple options for you to choose from, take the time to do your homework so you can make the choice that will work best for you.
Good luck.

Please see if you can get a referral to an endocrinologist. There are numerous problems that can cause hormones to be out of whack and figuring out your root causes will affect how you treat what's going on. It does sound like you need to consider some kind of treatment, but there are alternatives to what you listed. This link lists some treatments that sound less invasive than the "open her up and let's see what we can do" approach:
