I've had mine for over 3 years first day was very painful but after that great. It was fast and fun to watch on the screen.
OK, I have seen many things on the internet warning about side affects that are believed to have been caused by this procedure. But typically, it is only the negative stories that are told.
Is there anyone out there who has had the Essure done and had a good experience? Anyone who's had it for many years with no issues?
Or does anyone who has had problems KNOW that the Essure caused them?
Obviously, we are trying to decide about birth control now that we are done with having children. A vasectomy is not an option due to other health issues my husband has had, so we are trying to find the best solution besides that...

I had it done three years ago. No issues at all. I HIGHLY recommend it.
I had it done a little over a year ago and have not really had any issues. Some cramping maybe and soreness on my left side every once in awhile.
What I wasn't prepared for is going back to my natural body state... i.e my natural hormones, my real period (heavy and long), menstrual cramps, and all that other stuff I forgot about for the many years I was on birth control (since I was 18-- so almost 20 years). I have seen people refer to these as side effects, but in reality, it is just how my body really is without birth control hormones. I turn into a real bi-atch around ovulation time and my PMS is cuh-razy. My period is intensely heavy and the cramps suck, but at least I know this is just me... I remember it being this way in high school. :-) It's irritating sometimes, but I'm getting used to everything again.
Oh, and I'm really paranoid about getting pregnant again, so my husband and I still use condoms as a back-up method.
i love the idea behind it and I would do it in a heartbeat but I had issues with odd side effects with the iud so I am terrified to even try it since it cannot be removed. And plus I think I would end up on the pill anyway to control my cycle.
