I would suggest working with Epilepsy Foundation for Northeastern Illinois. They are great advocates with links to counseling, doctors and support groups.
Please contact me if you would like further information!!
My 1 year old daughter has been experiencing simple partial seisures from about 11 months of age. Would like to know if anyone has experienced this type of issue with their children? Thanks!

Hi A.,
Hugs to you and what you and your daughter are going through. My 6 year old son has complex partial seizures and has been on and off medication since birth for them. My son has epilepsy due to the fact that he had an inutero stroke. If I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to contact me. My e-mail address is: ____@____.com
Take care,
J.
Hello,
I would recommend going to a neurologist if you haven't done so already. My daughter had seizures as an infant and we went to Dr. Singh out of Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, she was excellent.
Good luck!

Hi A.,
Is this something that your doctor diagnosed? I'm just curious how you came to know that they were partial seizures. My children both had febrile seizures up until they were toddlers. If you know for sure the type of seizure your daughter has and they're not febrile, the best person to ask would be your daughter's ped. If you're not sure, I may be able to help. Good luck, I know how any type of seizure changes your everyday life.
Hi A.. Not that I am happy this is happenning to your child, but glad you posted because I have an 8 month old that has been having these 'episodes' for months now. All of a sudden he will stop what he is doing and stare blankly and many times it will look like he's stopped breathing and lips turn blue. He's been hospitalized under observation, had two EEG's (one was 24 hours) and an MRI and nothing has shown up. Just yesterday my husband got video of it on his camera phone but this is the only evidence of the seizures (we're assuming that's what it is). As he is so young and nothing has shown up his neurologist suggested we try to get them on video because the episodes are so sporadic = we can never tell when it's going to happen - it could be the next day or weeks from the last one. The dr. does not want to medicate him for something without proof so we are still searching for answers. While I do not have advice for you I want you to know you're not alone. Feel free to email me privately if you want to talk or share information. Good luck!
