Hi moms,

My boys just had their preschool speech & hearing screenings today and both failed their Middle Ear screenings. Has anyone had any experience with this? We were referred to Ohio ENT and they have seven different doctors, so if anyone has gone here and has a doctor to recommend or to stay away from, I'd appreciate the info.
Thanks!

Dr Balzes Obrien at Ohio ENT is great! Both my boys have spent lots of time with him. The outpatient faculity is aswome if they need ear tubes and such done. All the doctors there are great!

A few years ago both my son (who was 2 1/2 at the time) and I had our tonsils out by Dr. Main at Ohio ENT and I've also been to him for a couple of other ENT problems. He's great!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Irene, if he's still there. he's fantastic. Very compassionate and thorough, and he educates his patients so well. I had chronic middle and outer ear issues for years, and he was my doc. Good luck to your boys!

We have used Ohio ENT, also. We go to Dr. Michael Martyn. He has done ear tubes and adenoids on my kids and he has done sinus surgery on me. Very good outcomes for everyone. I hear that the whole practice is very good.

Good Luck!

Hi J.,

Ohio ENT is a wonderful facility and has very good doctors.
Although, I don't know all of them, two of them have been in practice for awhile. Howard Lowery took my tonsils out when I was a child and James Lowery treated me several years ago as an adult when I had a bad spell with vertigo. My sister-in-law has used this facility for my niece who has had several nose operations due to nosebleeds. I am not sure who her doctor is but could find out for you if you wish.

My kids had their tonsils taken out last year and my husband had sinus surgery and his tonsils taken out also at Ohio ENT by Dr. David Powell and he was AWESOME from beginning to end! My sister-in-law had to have sinus surgery last month and she went there as well but she saw a different DR. I am not sure who he was but she was not impressed with him and wished that she had seen DR Powell.

I recently went to Dr. Gupta at Mt. Carmel Big Run on Clime Rd. and had the greatest experience. He was a great dr and very attentative. My son, 3, had to have his tonsils and adnoids removed and of course I was this nervous mom and though I called a gazillion times with questions he called me back every time and made sure I was comfortable with everything being done. It was refreshing to feel taken care of instead of a # and pushed along. I recommend him greatly!!
