Any ideas for a singer or other forms of entertainment for my son's 1st birthday party. I need someone who will come to the city and who does not cost a fortune. I thought a singer of children's songs might be a good idea. Any other thoughts? Thanks so much.

Check out the wiggleworms program at the Old Town School of Folk Music... a baby and toddler music program. I believe they might arrage for this sort-of thing, however they are teachers and lead sing-alons, so participation is usually expected. It is wonderful. Good luck.

I live in Beverly and many of the birthday parties have invited a singer from World Folk Music. I take infant classes there with my 2 year old and all of the teachers are wonderful.

Good luck.

honestly, all you need to be entertained at the first birthday party is a bit of cake for your little one to smash!! the whole thing is so overwhelming for the little guy you might find putting on a show could put him over the top, especially if you're expecting a big crowd.
