Enfamil Lipil w/Iron vs Enfamil Lipil w/Iron Next Step

I used Enfamil Next Step with my son when he turned 1 and was very pleased using it. We ended up using it until he turned 2.
I thought it was great to have because at that age, they tend to become very picky eaters and it's just another way to ensure your baby is getting proper vitamins and nutrients until they really eat well.
I have also used Similac Advanced if the store was out of Next Step and also liked it very much. My son hated the Nestle Good Start for some reason but did very well with the Similac & Next Step.

My doctor said the same thing as Christina's- it is a gimic from the formula companies. We did regular formula until one and then switched to cow's milk for both my boys (now 1 and 3). They did fine with both and we saved lots of money.

I put my son on Next Step when he was 9 months old just because I figured if he did not like whole milk he could stay on it until he was 24 months. I don't think it is any cheaper than Enfamil Lipil, but it was cheaper than the Nestle Natural Cultures we started him on when he was 6 months old. I love the formula the Nestle would always clump when making it and I always used a small whisk when mixing each bottle. I never have that problem with Next Step. My daughter also drank Next Step when I weaned her at around 10 months she drank it until she was 18 months old. Only because she was not a big fan of milk.

It's not any cheaper. My pediatrician told me that the "next step" was basically a way for the fomula companies to keep making money off of parents by keeping babies on formula past the age of one. I used the Enfamil w/ Iron until my daughter was one year and then we switched to whole milk. I think at this point it's more important to worry about creating good eating habits as this is the point in their life when they begin to take their nutrients in food rather than formula.

My daughter on was on Enfamil lipil with iron and we moved her to the next step around 9-10 months old. She did not have a problem changing. I think that it pretty much the same. The next steps was on sale a lot when we were buying it. Plus, out of all the formulas, walmart and target were generally sold out most of the time.
