Hello Moms,

Oh Lord, summer vacation has begun and I need to be Super Mom for 3 months. Sometimes I feel like I can't be Average Mom for even 3 hours!! Does anyone have a suggestion for an energy supplement? I really need a boost some days and believe me I have a lot to keep up with!!

Thanks, M

What can I do next?

Yes, ma'am! Vitamin D. A lot of people are deficient. I started taking after my blood work came back saying it was low, and let me tell ya. I felt sooo much better. I was able to concentrate more, I don't have the unwarranted tired feeling anymore, I'm not as grouchy haha. It really makes a difference.

I also take B complex and that helps, but not as much as Vitamin D.

See if you can get a blood test for your iron levels. Most women are borderline anemic anyway, and you might benefit from iron supplements. Caution: you don't want an iron overdose, though, so def. ask your doc (or at least the miniclinic in your supermarket?)

I've personally had luck with vitamin B supplements. Overdose is unlikely, since it's a water-soluble vitamin, but there are a couple you want to stay away from mega-doses of. Reference chart: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B_vitamins

Also, if you're using calming scents in your house, replace your candles or scentsy or whatnot with something more invigorating - goodbye lavender, hello orange!

Also, fake being SuperMom - I'm going to try - we have a Summer Bucket List. Google it, but in a nutshell, write down everything you want to do over the summer in two lists: one, on white paper - things that take a few minutes to a few hours (write and mail a letter, go to the movies). Your second list, on colored paper - things that take all day (go to that really great park that's further away than you usually want to drive just for a trip to the park). (Or, you can do three colors - separate your few minutes and few hours lists into two colors. Or you could even separate your "several hours" list into two colors - things that require mom, and things that don't!) Cut up the list, fold the slips of paper, drop them in a bucket. The rule is, you have to do the things you draw out of the bucket. Now, you don't have to come up with something on the fly. You have a bucket. Instant solve to "Mom, I'm bored!"

B Complex. People go to the Dr to get B12 shots. B is the #1 thing for energy! There are others, but B Complex is the most readily available and works very well. I take on ein the morning and another at 3 fot the afternoon slump.

Also, cut all the processed white carbs from your diet. They are energy zappers.

After seeing a commercial, my five year old said, "Mom, you need
Centrum Specialist for Energy. She takes it to keep up with her kids!". Lol. There is nothing I could take legally that would help me keep up with her!

I use a supplement called "Verve" by Vemma that is an all-natural energy boost, plus a full-spectrum vitamin that has a lot of the other nutrients suggested here. You can view all the information at www.triciavogel.vemma.com. Let me know if you have specific questions!

I drink coffee.

My Hubby is a juicer... he juices lots of veggies etc. Don't know if it gives him more energy. But he's healthier now.

How old are your kids????
That makes a difference.
Older kids are more self-reliant and independent.

My kids are in summer programs. So that takes care of half a day.

Hi M.,

I've been taking Genesis Pure Metabolic Boost and I really noticed a difference today when I didn't take it because I ran out! I have been sleepy and I'm not motivated to do anything!

www.genesispure.com/totaltransformation

This is an all natural, organic supplement. It's part of a weightloss program that my husband and I have been doing for almost 4 weeks now and I have lost 11 pounds and he lost 16 pounds so far. The best part is we haven't changed our diet or been exercising and we still lost weight. The creator is Dr. Lindsey Duncan, he's a regular on Dr. Oz Show. You can google him and see everything he's done.

As an added bonus we have even made money from Genesis Pure. Look at the website and if you're interested email me and I can help you!

Good luck!

Make sure to take time for yourself to exercise, the more I exercise the better I feel and more energy I have to keep up with everything else.

You can also take a daily multi-vitamin.
Eat spinach - the iron in it honestly gives me a boost
If I'm really tired in the afternoon and it's only 2:00, I'll have a cup of coffee or even a coke for the caffeine, once in awhile it's fine.
