Endometrial Ablasion - Dover,DE

Hey Ladies (and perhaps a few gents),

Has anyone on here had Endometrial Ablasion?

I have started Perimenopause and for some reason my irregular periods are coming more frequently instead of less. I'll be darned if I'm having 48 periods a dadgum year, so I am wanting to get the Ablasion to eliminate them altogether. Anyone have any experiences or advice to share?

Also, on a completely different topic, what the heck is a VPK? I keep seeing it in posts and all I can come up with is "Very Pricey Kindergarten" and I know that's not right.

Thanks for your responses on either or both questions!

L.

I had my ablation done a year ago and I couldn't be happier with the results. After having my twins, my periods became so heavy I couldn't leave the house for the first few days of my cycle. Since the ablation, I have 2 or 3 days of spotting each month and almost zero cramping! The procedure itself was easy, they knocked me out and I woke up, went home, and rested for the rest of the day. I was back to normal, chasing toddlers the following day and had about a month of vaginal discharge which was expected. Hope this was helpful and good luck : )

I had an ablasion done to stop periods from hell and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I went from having a period every two weeks, cramps that doubled me over, bleeding so profuse that I was using the biggest tampons I could get, backed up with a pad, and still soaking my clothes, and mood swings that made people ask if someone had dropped a house on my sister to nothing. No bleeding, no cramping, no mood swings.

Hi L.,

My doctor recommended the ablasion to me for the same exact reason! I am looking forward to seeing the answers as I am on the fence. One of my good friends had it done about a year ago and she said her only regret is not having it done sooner.

I like you VPK acronym :)

I had it done on May 31st. I still get a period but it's very light and just a couple of days.

I HIGHLY recommend it!

NO downtime. You feek yucky after getting home but nothing a painkiller can't handle for a few hours. I slept it off and was ready to rock the next day.

Hi L., I had an E. Ablation done. It didn't work for me. As opposed to making my periods light or negligible, it actually made mine worse. My doctor was trying everything before going the hysterectomy route. I think the procedure usually works well. Good luck! Sorry - I don't know what VPK is either. :)
