I have a 7 year old daughter and I've noticed that ever since I had her I've been subjected to ever present facial hair. Has anyone experienced this? I mainly get it in my upper lip and chin...but when I pluck the hair it is now bruising my skin and leave an unsitely dark mark.

Please help with any advice.

Thanks,
M.

Probably a hormone inbalance which I have. The doc can stop it from getting worse with the pill but wont be able to reverse what has been done. I highly suggest laser hair removal if it bothers you that much. I am soooooo glad I did it. I would pluck and get ingrown hairs and it was so frustrating.

I joke that having my son turned me into a man. Plucking accomplishes squat. I'd be in the bathroom all day, every other day.

So I wax.

Just check out the waxing "menu" at any good salon and you'll see how many of us have a "secret" ;)

After I had my kid I got "hairier." It is unpleasant, and I don't know why it happens. I am also in the process of trying everything and I don't yet have the perfect solution. But, I recently tried Parissa products and it seems to work OK so far. It's not perfect, but it is close. I am also trying Nair (now they have a new product that is odor free and all that for sensitive skin) and I wipe off the excess with a cotton ball soaked in Parissa Azulene oil for extra soothing and protection. I did that the last time I "defuzzed" and got pretty decent results. Good luck.

Lots of women have this! Especially with dark hair. It is well worth it to go for laser treatment-expensive, but it will never come back. Plucking could continue to bruise, shaving is best, even thought you will have stubble if you forget. You need to be shaved in order to zap, so let it grow, shave, and see how your feel. There are millions of laser zapping places around the country for a reason-you're not alone! It's not always related to having kids, it's often hormonal changes from aging.

the reason it is bruising is b/c you are not tightening /stretching the skin enough. I personally wax this hair off myself but you really must pull at the skin before waxing or plucking. If you wish you could also choose to bleach the hair.

I have the same problem but it gets better as you pluck.

Yep, I've had it since I was a teenager...for me it's due to PCOS. I buy the wax strips at Walmart and just wax away in my own home for a fraction of the price I'd pay at the salon. I pay $7 for a box for up to 8 waxings as opposed to $15 per "area". Sally Hansen seems to be the best wax for me.

It's from hormones. I wax. It hurts the first few times but the more you do it the less hair grows in . Sally's has a lotion to numb the skin which makes it more tolerable. I used to have a full moustache now I only get about 5 hairs on each side. You are bruising most likely if you are pinching skin with the tweezers. Wait until they show up on your chin!!!!
