Pre-treat the armpit area of clothes by spraying thoroughly with Shout or Spray N Wash. Let sit for a while before washing. That's always worked for me.
This is embarassing for me, but know I am not alone. Ever since I started taking BC pills 3 yrs ago I sweat profusely in the underarm area-it is ridiculous and I hate it. I think I tried every deodorant out there, Anyone have any suggestions or know how to control it a bit-I know it is hormones, but there has to be someway to cut it down a bit? Also does anyone know how to get the underarm sweat stains out of clothes-EMBARASSING! THANKS for any suggestions. L.

I had that same problem for a while. I bought the clinical strength suave. The important step is to use it at night before bed and in the morning. I have not had anymore problems since I started using it twice a day. Hope this helps.
I also use certain dry. do not put on right after shaving under arm, it will sting. put it on at night and its good for the next day! I used it after I gave birth, as for under arm stains, well bleach the whites or stay away from them and if this problem continues and you have insurance there is an out patient surgery for removing underarm sweat glands, sounds irrational, but I know people who have needed this. I think it is relatively inexpensive and you could probably make payments. have you tried different BC's?
get a prescription for drysol (sp?). It worked for me like a charm - seriously!!!
I had the same problem for YEARS, and it was awful. I SO understand how you feel. I hated getting dressed every morning...wearing gray? Forget about it! Oh dear L., I know JUST how you feel.
I finally got serious and talked to a doctor. I was given a prescription. I can't remember what it was called, but you just dab a little under your arms every few days...IT WORKED. I think I cried! I strongly believe that there is nothing at any drugstore that can cure the worst cases (like I had)....so definitely talk to your family doctor about getting a prescription. Good luck!
Botox injections in your arm pits will keep them from sweating. I think it last for like 3 to 4 months so you would only have to do it a few times a year. Also my sister had a similar problem and she just went to the doctor and he gave her a prescription deodorant. She had to put it on like twice a day (morning and night) but she only had to use it for a while and it cured her. NOw she just uses over the counter stuff.
L., I would suggest talking to your doctor about switching BC. Your hormones are out of control and it could be your BC is too strong for your body.
About the sweat stains in the clothes... sorry, there's nothing that can help get those out. :(
I was recently at Target last week and discovered they have much stronger deodorants out on the shelves. They are more expensive than regular deodorant, like $11. Available in more than one brand too. I've always used Lady Speed Stick and they just recently came out with one that protects your shirts from getting stains.
As far as removing stains... this website should help:

I used to sweat a lot when I was younger. I lived in Mexico for several years and discovered a product called Drysol. It is the best thing ever! If you use it consistently you will stop sweating so much under the arms. I think you can get it online or talk to your dr. about getting it by prescription. You use it nightly and at first it stings a lot, but it does stop stinging after a while of using it. I have no idea if there are health risks but I used it for like a year at night and that was like 10 years ago and have never had a sweat problem since. Good luck!!
try sudsy amonia in your wash, and hang clothes on the line in the sun, both get the stains out, dont use bleach it makes it worse. you can get botox injections to stop the sweating, armpits, feet and palms of hands can be done.
I'm not familiar with the connection to birth control but can offer this advice:
Certain Dri Deodorant works great
http://www.walgreens.com/store/catalog/For-Men/Anti-Persp...#
Has same ingredients as Secret Clinical & similar products, but cheaper. CVS also sells their own brand, which I believe runs around $5. And it works.
For stains, I Googled, asked my mom and came up with the following:

There's this AMAZING stain remover called "L.A.'s Totally Awesome"
http://www.lastotallyawesome.com/html/Products_Laundry_St...
available at Dollarsmarts. It's only a $1 and it works!
I spot treat with the "Totally Awesome" then scrub (using a toothbrush) with a baking soda, peroxide, oxi clean paste. The stains start to fade as you scrub. Let sit for 30 min to an hour then wash with a scoop of oxi clean & your regular detergent. I was so darn amazed I was asked to clean my boyfriend's trashed tees and got formula stains out of old pjs as well.
Hope that helps
I had so many side effects from taking the pill, I switched to an IUD. No side effects and it is good for 10 years! It is pricey upfront but if you divide $500 by 10 years, it is very cost effective! The best part is, when I wanted to get pregnant, I just went to the Dr to have it removed, and there is no waiting period for chemicals to get out of your system. I got pregnant right away, and my first cycle had another on put in. My "baby is now eight years old. I will never go back to any other type of birth control!
My mom swears by Certain Dry. You can get it at most drugstores (not sure about Walmart/Target), and I must say that for a period of time when my armpits were sweating like crazy, it worked wonders on me. The only thing is, don't use it after you've shaved...it stings like crazy then! Don't know about the sweat stains...good luck!
I am totally getting the nonhormonal IUD after having my son. I don't trust birth control pills and I never have. I have never taken them. Also you see too many lawsuits on tv now about them. they cause blood clots, strokes and heart attacks, etc. Two of my aunts developed blood clots and the docs told them it was because of taking birth control for so many years. I am not trying to scare you but I would definitely find another method of bc. Good luck.
I use Degree prescription strength. I have the same problem from other medications. It can be found over the counter at any store but costs $11. Ever since using it, I haven't had any more issues while I'm using it.
I've been on BC for 6 years and I have never had that side effect...have you talked to your doctor about changing your BC to see if that helps? I used to sweat a lot when I played sports and if you can't find a women's deodorant that helps I suggest using an unscented men's deodorant...for whatever reason people still think men need stronger protection than women!
