I'm sorry--I'm obviously not awake yet--I thought this said "electric girdle"!
My husband LOVES using the electric griddle. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but he can't seem to keep one for longer than a year. He says the tephlon starts wearing off. He would really like to find a stainless steel electric griddle. Does anyone know if they exist? Or wear to find one?
Last night we went shopping, but the only thing we could find other than the traditional electric griddle was one that is used over burners. He really wants electric.
Any suggestions?

I want an electric Girdle!
I have only ever found Teflon ones.
When we first got our griddle, I never thought we would use it.....But with in the first week, it was ALL I cooked with!
Try a restaurant store like Rebecca said, but I would expect to pay $$ for it there.
I have never seen one that is stainless steel, but I imagine they would exist. When looking for hard to find cooking items I always check cooking.com and amazon.com. If anyone will have it, they will.

looks like restraunt supply stores may be your best bet. This is the least expensive stainless one I saw online, but with some digging, you might have better luck:)
I cannot recommend any product to you, but make sure they have a warranty for a year if you get another electric griddle and then keep the receipt. Take it back. That shouldn't happen.
Also check out camping stores equipment as opposed to places like Target, (they do have some nice electric griddles) and see if there are stainless steel ones.
search restaurant stores. From what I found they range from $300 +
I am not 100% sure but I think this one has a stainless steel, or at least not non-stick, surface.

You may want to change how he cleans it so the Teflon doesn't wear off. You need to steam clean it, using no cleansers or anything that with scratch. While it is hot wipe any grease or residue then, place a wet paper towel on it and let it steam. Repeat until clean. The unit should be unplugged while cleaning but if it cool down too much I plug it in and let it warm again. These instructions for cleaning may be in your manual, I found them in the instructions for my Panini press.
