I also agree to check Power to Choose. My husband checks every 4-6 months and switches us to whoever is giving the best rate.
Is anyone getting a good price on their electricity? I am tired of spending my whole check on it. I could find lots of other things to spend that money on. Thanks in advance.

Dear J.,
9.2 cents per kwh is one of the lowest rate I found. See info below.
Hope this help.

Hi J.,
I check "Power to Choose" about every 6 Mo. I don't know how much you are spending or who you are with at the moment but I am with StarTex and am getting 9.2¢ per KWh for 6 mo and no Cancellation Fee (Important!).
It looks like Reliant Energy is the least expensive right now at 9.2¢ per KWh.
Here is the website, Good Luck!

If you go to powertochoose.org, you can compare the rates of the companies that are available in your area.
Back when energy prices were so high, my contract had expired and I was getting charged 22 cents/kwh. I got the cheapest rate available at the time which was 13 cents/kwh, but had to sign a 1 year contract with an early termination fee to get that rate. I'm sure the rates are lower now that energy prices are down.
You'll probably have to decide if you want a cheaper rate with a contract or pay a little more for the freedom to change whenever you like. And make sure you read the terms of service and fact labels for each company you are considering before deciding. Some charge a customer fee and some do not. That can make a difference in the final price as well.
Blessings,
N.
My husband researched high and low for the best prices and he chose StarTex. We saw a dramatic difference.
Good luck!
Hello J.,
I saw this on the Oprah Show. they have it on her website too.
Disconnect Your Appliances
Let's start with a no-cost step. About 75 percent of the energy consumed by home appliances occurs while they're turned off but still plugged in. Unplug everything in your house that doesn't need to be connected full-time, or plug cords in to surge protectors, which can be flipped on as needed.
