Soap (Dove sensitive) did not work -- I can still smell the sunscreen on my daughter. She has sensitive skin and gets eczema flare-ups on her legs. Is there something mild I can use to wash off sunscreen on her face and body?
Just because you can still smell the sunscreen does not necessarily mean it's still on her skin. Getting rid of the odor is not the same thing. Is it bothering her? If it's bothering her, obviously you need to address it. But if you're worried just because you can smell it and for no other reason, I wouldn't worry. It's just the remaining smell.
My kids always smelled like sunscreen and chlorine during swim season, even with daily hot showers & plenty of soap.
I guess these chemicals are absorbed (?) and eventually wear off. I wouldn't worry about it too much, especially if she has sensitive skin. Over washing or scrubbing may make it worse.
Are you using the all natural sunscreen? Don't use the chemical one if she has sensitive skin. Make sure the active ingredients are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. I haven't had any problem with them coming off. We had the inverse problem of having to re-apply more often.
You can use your eczema cream to rub off the sunscreen. Sort of like removing those temporary tattoos. The best thing for those is body lotion.
High grades tea tree oil added to the water will break down the toxicity and is safe for your toddler. I actually use a microfine zinc oxide formula as a sunscreen and it's safe for little ones, even infants. No need to wash off except as a regular bath. I agree with Mamazita that scrubbing is not helping her sensitivities.

I agree that if it's just the smell but isn't bothering her, let it be.
If it's bothering her, I used to use my Mary Kay eye makeup remover to remove stubborn, zinc-based diaper cream. It would probably work on sunscreen as well. If it's gentle enough for the eye area, it's probably gentle enough for sensitive skin. Perhaps pick up a small package of eye makeup remover wipes and see if those help.
What Gidget said and perhaps oatmeal soap will work on her sensitive skin. I don't know that it will get rid of the smell of the sunscreen. Time will take care of that.
