IMO, Sally Moore. The principle is an amazing woman and the rest of the staff is outstanding. The test scores speak for themselves.
In my opinion, Powell Elementary off of Carrier. They have a great administrative staff, great teachers, and the parent involvement is amazing. Their ratings are great as well. Good luck!
First you need to know that there are at least 3 school districts that have elementary schools in Grand Prairie. The Arlington ISD has Larsen Elementary in North Grand Prairie and the Mansfield ISD has several great elementary campuses in the Southwest area of Grand Prairie. And then GPISD has other campuses as well.
Powell and Sallye Moore are hands down the best. The principals of both schools are great friends and the schools partner a lot, so they are quite similar. Moore has some of the best test scores in the district. IMO, Moore is the best. I taught there since it opened and only recently quit to stay home with my baby. The staff and parents are the most involved. However, if you don't live in the area, it is difficult to transfer in.
I was raised in GP. My son attended Kindergarten at Eisenhower Elementary in GP and then we moved to Mansfield ISD. I highly, highly recommend MISD over GPISD any day! MISD is so advanced and really seemed to be ahead in their learning. Just my opinion, but I was really shocked in the difference we experienced!
My girls started out at Dickinson and moved over to Moseley when it opened last year. I have 3 girls that attend there one in kinder, one in 3rd and one in 4th. It is still new and kinks are still being worked out. However, the teachers that I have dealt with have been awsome! I really love the office ladies and Mrs. Milham the principle is really good with the kids. I have talked to several parents who sent kids there and transfered them out because they felt like they were too strict at that school. I like the "no fly zone" policy that gives kids detention for teasing, name calling, or picking on (bullying) other kids. I've ran into my own set of issues but overall I would recommend Moseley.
